The good thing about holidays that don't fall on 2/29 is they come every year.

My husband's boss was at this game today... must be nice

...if you'd have gone to church some crazy lunatic could have shown up and killed everyone there before the service started. Then you'd be dead without having attended. Now you aren't dead and have a shot at attending some other time.

Except in my religion it would have been better to die because that would have meant that you were at that church attending the service. If you didn't die that means that you weren't at church where you should have been on the day that Jesus was crucified.

About a mile away.

I think the last church I went to was Christ Church Cathedral or that other Cathedral (St. Patrick's?) in Dublin, Ireland. I didn't attend services or anything but I went in and took a look. Those were some fine looking churches.

That's still kind of far. The nearest church to my house is about 2 blocks. It gets vandalized all the time though since it's for Asian people. The church is about 10 feet by 10 feet. There aren't many Asian people here so I guess that's why it's so small.

What's weird is the vandalism has pro-Christianity stuff written on it. I didn't think God cared what language people worshiped in...if he did English certainly wasn't the preferred language. Some people are stupid though.

The nearest English-language church is about 4 blocks.

They might not be the same religion. One religion might be baptist and the people writing it might be catholic or something....

The church I used to attend wasn't open on Saturdays. They didn't have Good Friday sermons because schools tend to frown on religious sermons during school.

The "church" was in a middle school cafeteria. I think the Cathedrals in Europe were a little more impressive.

UPDATE: That church I used to attend has its own building now.

It's going to be interesting when I go on Saturday. You get to see all the Christmas and Easter people and watch them not doing what they are suppose to be doing. I shouldn't laugh at them, but it's hard not to...

Speaking of churches in weird buildings...down the street from me is a synagogue. It looks like an office. It's part of an office complex. I think it's a synagogue. It's some sort of Jewish place. There's stars of David and what not.
