monsterjobs.com I've applied for a coupe through there but I've about given up as I've heard nothing from anywhere I've applied. I'm thinking of applying to a psychiatric technician school in Coalinga, CA (out in the middle of nowhere). The pay is decent while you're in school ($1,100/mo. or so) and better after you graduate ($4,000/mo or so) and the school only takes a year. It would give me clinical experience which I need before I can get into a physician's assistant school which is what I probably want to do in the end anyways. I could be a nurse practitioner, but that's 6 more years of school. A PA is the same thing but I wouldn't have to spend 4 years in nursing school - I already have a degree and the PA school would let me put it to use. Application deadline for that Psychiatric Technician school is 11/15 and classes start 12/15.

| Wow, I really suck!
I ran into my old boss today at the store and mentioned I was considering working there again and was told that there were no jobs available for me.
Before anyone suggests that maybe it's the economy or they have enough employees or something, that's a lie. I worked there for 2 years and at least 2 or 3 people quit almost every week and even in the weeks people don't quit they're always desperate for more employees (I mean who'd want to work there?).
When a fast food restaurant that you worked at for 2 years (as a good employee who called in sick just once the entire 2 years and was never once late and never written up) won't even give you a job, there really is no hope.

| You do NOT suck. You might have to create your own job. Landscaping? Home aide for some elderly/disabled person? Video store? Convenience store clerk? | |

Just don't spend them all on the nickel slots if you happen to go through Vegas (or any of Nevada for that matter).
They still have nickel slots? They sure do! The sad thing is most casinos no longer accept or dispense coins - they give you tickets instead. While the tickets are very easy to work with, I like hearing coins drop. The smaller casinos still take coins. Be careful with nickel slots though - the vast majority of them are the stupid video slots where they say "play 45 credits" (9 lines and 5 credits a line). There are very few normal nickel slots.

| They still have a few of the old nickle slots here in Reno. You have to pull a handle and everything.
You'll have to get a liquor license if you plan on selling nickle beers, plus you have to ID everyone.

| I am going to apply as a food service technician at the Atascadero State Hospital. They currently have an open exam. Applications due 10/31 and the exam is 12/1. Qualification is either: a) 6 months working in preparing food (I have 2 years) or b) Completion of the 8th grade (or equivalent) (I obviously have this) The pay is: FOOD SERVICE TECHNICIAN I - $2065 - $2507 PER MONTH FOOD SERVICE TECHNICIAN II - $2215 - $2693 PER MONTH Food Service Technician II requires 2 years experience which is right about what I have so I'll apply for both positions. ---------- On a side note I really love how they call cooks food service technicians :haha: Too bad it wasn't food service engineer | |
