That degree will pay off big time! I'll be the most highly-educated burger-flipper in town! Then again, by having completed 8th grade that would have already been the case.

They need volunteers. They don't have much in the way of paid work though.

| I applied for my first job today! A secretary You really need college degrees for that If hired (which I won't be since I'm not at all qualified) I would make $12.12-14.74/hr. McDonalds here I come! It turns out I type 71 WPM with 93% accuracy for a net of 67 WPM. - Spoiler:
I actually applied to be a secretary's aide - I'm not even good enough to be a secretary

| It's a start! It's sad that colleges try to brainwash you into thinking you're gonna be starting at the top! I started as a temp (yes, a "Kelly Girl") and then went into insurance claims processing before I entered healthcare clerical work. BTW that is a great starting salary! Maybe not for California but here it would be great! | |

| I applied for a bunch of county jobs some of which are clinical experience which would be very useful so that I could get into fancier school. The best of those jobs pays $17.94/hr....I won't get that one though and it has something to do with the water company.
I might get that mental health worker aide job though ($12.67/hr). It requires no experience and there's also a mental health worker I and mental health worker II which require college. I'm qualified for all of them but they're only hiring the aides.

| Well I wanted to be a psychiatrist but I'm pretty stupid so that's not happening. I'm probably going to go to school to be a PA/NP but it'll be at least a year before I can get into school so I need a job for the time being. I'll spend a few weeks trying to find something better than McDonalds/Wal-Mart/etc. but if I can't, I guess that's what I'll have to do.
If only I would have stuck with majoring in biology. There's a biotech place in my hometown that needs lab people - no experience necessary, just a B.S. in Biology or some sort of biological sciences.

I know it's hard...was there. Call temp services too. You'd be surprised how many companies just hire on their temps.

| I applied for a supervisor and/or manager position at Wal-Mart :haha: I had to take two supplemental assessments to be a manager/supervisor and I passed them both!
I said I won't work for less than $10/hr so we'll see...
I know I can get a job, but I really want even a mediocre pay. I've only had one job in my life (and I worked there twice for a total of 2.5 years) and made $8/hr when minimum wage was $6.75. I realize I can't get a good job, but I feel like with a B.A. I should make not only more than I made before but even more than the $1.25/hr more than minimum wage I had before (that means more than $9.25/hr). We'll see....

That's what I'm shooting for. I have no bills other than gas, but you save more money when you make more. I'd love to not live at my mom's house my whole life!

| Work permits....
Half a sheet of paper where you write your name, and employer's name/address. Your would-be boss signs it, your principal signs it and you take it back to your employer who keeps it on file. VERY simple and you have to do it yearly.

I COULD take my sister's job, because she's about to move; so she can't work there anymore. Too bad I can't drive. |

| Yeah, lack of driving makes it tough. When can you get your license? Is there anywhere workable nearby? Then again, working isn't fun so don't be in a huge hurry to do it. They say it makes your grades slip, but if you do it right it won't just start slow. | |

--My cousin and I are talking about hating OSU--Seems to be a pretty general concenus. December 3rd, if I had my permit or have taken driver's ed, which isn't offered during school hours like a lot of schools. |
