| Lincecum on the pitch count (according to the radio guys)...
He laughs. "In college I was throwing 140, 145 pitches every night and then I'd pitch in relief two days later".

| Complete game tonight for Lincecum.... 8IP, 3ER, 6K. Sadly, the Giants only scored twice and he lost Although his latest start is better than Webb's, Webb got a win and the moron voters are probably even more inclined to vote Webb | |

| BREAKING NEWS!
Lincecum to get an extra start! Bruce Bochy announced today that he's going to shuffle the rotation and let Lincecum pitch two more times instead of just once. There's an off day in there so the Giants will use that so Lincecum can start twice instead of once. They all want him to win that Cy Young.
I've decided if he doesn't win (and the numbers remain about where they are) I will personally write a letter to all 32 BBWAA writers in the National League and let them know what morons they (or their colleagues) are.

| Well he can kiss the Cy Young goodbye now 4.1 IP, 4ER, 9K, and a loss. That's 2 losses in a row and he's now 5 wins behind Webb. While he still is far and away the ERA leader (especially compared to Webb), it's unlikely that the voters will be smart enough to overlook such an enormous gap in wins. Only once before has a player won the Cy Young with 4 fewer losses than the wins champion and his ERA was over a run better than the wins leader. Lincecum's is only going to be about 0.60 better than Webb's and he'll probably be 5 wins back. If only SABR could vote for these awards, Lincecum would still win. | |

| Stupid official scorer The day after Lincecum's last start the official scorer of the San Francisco Giants decided he's not a big Lincecum fan and changed an error to a hit which made 2 of Lincecum's unearned runs turn into earned runs which puts him in 2nd place in the ERA race Why the would you do that? Official scorers are supposed to give a hometown discount to their pitchers and help their ERAs. I didn't see the play and won't bother to watch since I'm incredibly biased. According to a discussion at baseball-fever.com (amongst non-Giants fans) the play probably should be an error yet the idiot changed it anyways | |

| Too little, too late, but Lincecum wants the Cy Young....
After 2 innings he's got 6K's. And I'm ever-so-pissed. They're playing the Dodgers (who are my local team) yet the game isn't televised for some reason. I've been looking forward to seeing Lincecum pitch in high definition for about 2 weeks now (since they announced he'd get this start) and now I can't watch at all - not even on mlb.tv since I'm blacked out since they're playing my local team.

| After 7 it's 1-0 Dodgers Lincecum has gone 7 IP and struck out a career-high-tying 13 batters. He'll probably get at least another inning. | |

| Lincecum's season is over. Even though he only threw 103 pitches, they'll take him out after 7 for a pinch hitter. It's 1-1 so he can't lose. The Giants must score this inning or he gets a no-decision.
His final numbers:
227 IP (3rd in NL), 2.62 ERA (2nd in NL), 265K (most in ML, most in NL by more than 50).
His record will be either 17 or 18 and 5. He'll have the second-most wins in the NL regardless of what happens today - if he wins he'll be alone in 2nd. If he gets a no-decision it'll be a tie.
