Through 4 innings...
it's 1-1.
Both pitchers have exactly identical lines:
4IP, 53p, 2H (1HR, 1 2B), 1ER, 0BB, 7K
They both struck out in their only at bat.

Lincecum is likely done as he's due up first. His line will likely end up...
7IP, 96p, 4H, 2ER, 1BB, 11K
Still, ERA went up ever-so-slightly to 2.34 (was 2.33) and he'll likely take the loss as his team sucks ever-so-hard. This certainly won't help his Cy Young chances

Pot found in star pitcher's car during I-5 speed stop Thursday, November 5 | 2:14 p.m. BY SCOTT HEWITT COLUMBIAN STAFF WRITER
Tim Lincecum, star pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, is facing charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia use after being stopped for speeding on I-5 last week.
At 8:23 a.m. Oct. 30, Washington State Patrol trooper and spokesman Steve Schatzel said, a motorcycle trooper working with a laser device timed a 2006 Mercedes Benz doing 74 mph northbound in Hazel Dell near Northeast 78th Street — where the speed limit is 60 mph.
The trooper pulled the Mercedes over. When the driver, Lincecum, rolled down his window, the trooper smelled marijuana. He asked Lincecum to hand it over, and Lincecum reached into his dashboard console and produced a small pouch and a pipe, Schatzel said.
The amount was 3.3 grams, Schatzel said, which is considered only enough for personal use. Lincecum did not appear to be impaired behind the wheel and is not being charged with a felony crime, Schatzel said.
"Not unless there's something else going on," Schatzel said. "With this amount of marijuana, that's normally the way we deal with it."
He said 3.3 grams is about the size of a human thumb.
Lincecum "was cited and released," Schatzel said. The speeding citation was for $122. He is expected to be arraigned on Nov. 23 in Clark County District Court.
Schatzel said the motorcycle officer was joined by another officer in a marked patrol car; one didn't know who Lincecum was but the other recognized the name of the 2008 National League Cy Young Award winner.
He said the troopers didn't do anything that wasn't routine.
Lincecum, 25, is a native of Bellevue. He attended Liberty High School in Renton, where was the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Washington. He later starred for the University of Washington, winning in the Golden Spikes award in 2006 as the nation's top amateur baseball player. He was selected as the 10th overall player in the 2006 MLB Draft by the San Francisco Giants. He won the 2008 National League Cy Young Award after going 18-5 with a 2.62 earned-run average and 265 strikeouts. He is again among the leading contenders for the 2009 Cy Young Award after going 15-7 with a 2.47 ERA and 261 strikeouts. He was the starting pitcher for the National League in the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis. Last month, he was selected the National League pitcher of the year by The Sporting News for a second consecutive season. Lincecum signed for a $2.025 million signing bonus with the Giants in 2006. He is arbitration eligible for the first time this offseason, and he is expected to earn a pay raise to more than $10 million for 2010.

So the best swimmer and the best pitcher in the world smoke pot. I guess those commercials that say if you even touch pot you'll never amount to anything were wrong. The only thing stupid about what he did was he didn't get a medical card (Washington has them). Since chronic pain is one of the conditions allowed in Washington, he could have said his (insert any body part) hurts all the time which would certainly be believable given his profession.

What's really lame is getting pulled over for going less than 75 on I-5. What's with a 60MPH speed limit? Everyone drives 80+ on I-5 as the speed limit is 70. I can't recall a single spot of I-5 with a speed limit other than 70. Based on the article he was going through the Portland, OR / Vancouver, WA metro area, but still. Even in LA and SD I-5's speed limit remains 70.

Lincecum wins the Cy Young again!
Lincecum's the one; that makes two Cys Wainwright finishes third despite getting most first-place votes
SAN FRANCISCO -- From now on, when Tim Lincecum steps onto the pitcher's mound, he'll stand alone in more ways than one.
Many pitchers have recorded more victories and strikeouts than Lincecum. Several have received more Cy Young Awards. None, however, thrived to the extent that he has during a career that has been as brilliant as it is brief.
On Thursday, Lincecum became the only pitcher to capture the Cy Young Award in each of his first two full Major League seasons. The San Francisco Giants right-hander was named the National League's repeat winner Thursday in balloting conducted by the Baseball Writers' Association of America.
"It's a tremendous honor for me," said Lincecum, 25. "To be up there and do what I've done means the world."
Lincecum made history in one of the closest Cy Young votes ever. In balloting that assigned five points for a first-place vote, three for a second-place vote and one for a third-place nod, Lincecum totaled 100 points and 11 first-place votes. He edged St. Louis' pair of prolific right-handers, Chris Carpenter (nine first-place votes, 94 points) and Adam Wainwright (12 first-place votes, 90 points).
"I almost jumped out of my window," Lincecum said, describing his reaction upon receiving the news. "Maybe not [literally], but I had to go to the window to take the call."
Lincecum's six-point victory matched the third-closest election in the NL since the ballot expanded from one to three pitchers in 1970. The 10-point margin among the top three vote-getters was the second closest in NL voting. In 1987, Philadelphia reliever Steve Bedrosian edged Chicago's Rick Sutcliffe, 57-55, while Rick Reuschel, who pitched for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Giants that season, finished third with 54 points.
Lincecum (15-7, 2.48 ERA, 261 strikeouts) triumphed despite recording the lowest victory total for a full-season starter by a Cy Young winner. The previous low was established in 2006 by Arizona's Brandon Webb, who finished 16-8, and was matched only Tuesday when Kansas City's Zack Greinke (16-8) won the AL Cy Young Award.
Lincecum's victory total not only tied him for fourth in the league with seven other pitchers but also represented a dip from last year, when he went 18-5 and joined 1967 Cy Young recipient Mike McCormick to become only the second Giant to win the award. Much like this year, Lincecum earned 23 of 32 first-place votes despite finishing four victories behind Webb.
Though Wainwright (19-8, 2.63 ERA, 212 strikeouts) led the league in victories and Carpenter (17-4, 2.24 ERA, 144 strikeouts) was tops in ERA, Lincecum's superiority in more esoteric statistical categories was believed to have influenced voters in his favor.
"You can see where it's taken a turn to complete numbers," Lincecum said, referring to the evolving thought process of Cy Young electors.
Wainwright became only the second pitcher to garner the most first-place votes and not win the award. In 1998, Atlanta's Tom Glavine collected 11 first-place votes to 13 for San Diego's Trevor Hoffman but amassed the most points, 98-88, and took home the trophy.
That's partly why Lincecum called himself "lucky" to win the award. "Both the guys I was going up against had tremendous seasons," he said, calling Wainwright a "workhorse" and praising Carpenter's speedy comeback from injuries.
Lincecum is the first pitcher to win consecutive Cy Young Awards since Randy Johnson, a Giant in 2009, won four in a row with the Arizona Diamondbacks from 1999-2002. Other back-to-back winners include Pedro Martinez (1999-2000), Roger Clemens (1997-98 and 1986-87), Greg Maddux (1992-95), Jim Palmer (1975-76), Denny McLain (1968-69; he shared the honor in the latter year with Mike Cuellar) and Sandy Koufax (1965-66).
Lincecum clearly improved overall upon his first Cy Young season. He trimmed his ERA by 0.14. Opponents hit .206 off him this season, compared to .221 in 2008. After walking 84 in 227 innings a year ago, he improved to 68 walks in 225 1/3 innings this season.
The NL's starter in this year's All-Star Game, Lincecum led the league in strikeouts for the second year in a row, the first Giant to do so since Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson (1907-08). Lincecum also topped the NL with 26 quality starts while ranking second in ERA and opponents' batting average and third in innings. He tied teammate Matt Cain for the league lead with four complete games and joined four other pitchers atop the NL list with two shutouts.
Lincecum led the Major Leagues by making seven starts in which he worked at least eight innings and didn't allow an earned run. Greinke recorded five such outings. Carpenter and Wainwright had four and three, respectively. Lincecum's eight double-digit strikeout performances, highlighted by his 15-strikeout effort July 27 against Pittsburgh, represented another Major League best.
Lincecum topped Wainwright and Carpenter in several other statistical categories, including opponents' batting average, strikeouts per nine innings and strikeout-to-walk ratio.
At the conclusion of a nationwide conference call, Lincecum read a statement expressing contrition for being cited earlier this month for possessing a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe in his car in Clark County, Wash. County prosecutors and Lincecum reached a standard plea agreement, but he must appear in court in Vancouver, Wash., on Dec. 22.
"I made a mistake and regret my actions earlier this month in Washington," he said. "I want to apologize to the Giants organization and to the fans. I know that as a professional athlete I have a responsibility to conduct myself appropriately both on and off the field. I certainly have learned a valuable lesson through all of this and I promise to do better in the future. In the meantime, I am focused on preparing for the 2010 season."

Lincecum Seeking A One-Year Deal
By Mike Axisa [November 27, 2009 at 10:10am CST]
With the mother of all arbitration cases set to go down this winter, Tim Lincecum and his agent Rick Thurman will pursue just a one-year deal according to John Shea of The SF Chronicle. Going year-to-year in arbitration would allow the righty to maximize his earning potential, though he'd be forgoing the security that comes along with signing a long-term deal.
Shea mentions that the 25-year-old two-time defending Cy Young Award winner could ask for C.C. Sabathia money thanks to a "special accomplishment" provision in Article VI Rule F (12) of CBA. While filing for salary arbitration, a player's compensation is based on what other players with similar service time are paid, however this provision would allow arbitration panel to "give whatever weight to such argument as is deemed appropriate." That essentially means they could disregard Lincecum's service time, if they choose.

Lincecum agrees to 11th-hour, two-year pact Club, ace avoid arbitration moments before Friday's hearing
By Chris Haft / MLB.com
02/12/10 3:42 PM EST
SAN FRANCISCO -- Ultimately, both sides could derive a degree of satisfaction from Tim Lincecum's two-year, $23 million deal with the Giants that averted a salary arbitration hearing at the last minute on Friday.
Lincecum's agreement, which will become official once he passes a physical examination, will pay the two-time National League Cy Young Award winner $8 million this season and $13 million in 2011, with a $2 million bonus split between the two years. Fittingly, $8 million was the one-year contract figure that the Giants filed for in arbitration, while $13 million was Lincecum's.
Lincecum fell short of the $10 million level for this year and thus didn't eclipse Philadelphia first baseman Ryan Howard as the highest-paid third-year player in Major League history. He still became the richest first-time arbitration-eligible pitcher ever, exceeding the standard set by Jonathan Papelbon last January, when the Boston closer avoided arbitration by agreeing to a $6.25 million base salary.
The Giants will be saddled with $43.5 million in contract obligations to just three players next year: Lincecum, left-hander Barry Zito ($18.5 million) and center fielder Aaron Rowand ($12 million). But San Francisco attained a measure of cost certainty by "buying out" two of Lincecum's four arbitration seasons. The right-hander will become eligible for free agency after the 2013 season.
San Francisco also avoided compromising with Lincecum on an eight-figure deal for 2010, which might have changed baseball's economic landscape. Had the sides gone to a hearing, the arbitration panel would have had to select either the Giants' bid or Lincecum's.
"Any time there's a settlement, it's a 'win-win.' That's what you want," said Giants vice president of baseball operations Bobby Evans, who performed the bulk of the club's negotiations.
The sides had discussed various multiyear contract structures. Lincecum and his agent, Rick Thurman, rejected the first offer, a two-year proposal worth around $20 million. More recently, the Giants reportedly offered a three-year, $37 million deal, prompting Lincecum and his agents to seek a package exceeding $40 million.
Though negotiations intensified Thursday, Friday dawned with Lincecum's hearing scheduled for 9:30 a.m. ET in St. Petersburg, Fla. Lincecum, his father, Chris, and Thurman gathered at a hotel meeting room with Evans and a handful of other club representatives. Giants managing general partner Bill Neukom was not present.
With the proceedings about to begin, according to Evans, Lincecum's group suddenly left the room. The meeting was delayed as Lincecum's party asked to speak to Evans. At that point, contract talks resumed -- an 11th-hour phenomenon that often ends arbitration cases, since the hearings are potentially adversarial and distasteful to both sides.
Evans estimated that negotiations lasted for about an hour and a half before an accord was reached. Regarding what made Lincecum's side return to the two-year framework, Evans said, "You'll have to ask them. I don't know."
Neither Lincecum nor Thurman immediately returned phone messages. Other Giants officials declined to speak publicly, since Lincecum's contract is not yet official. In fact, the Giants strayed from club policy by declaring that an agreement had been reached before Lincecum took his physical exam. But the prevailing atmosphere, featuring the team's highest-profile player approaching an arbitration hearing, led the club to announce the deal.
In town last week for the Giants' FanFest and related functions, Lincecum repeated that opposing the club in a hearing would not disturb him, perhaps aware that management would find it virtually impossible to criticize his performance. Lincecum was 33-12 with a 2.55 ERA and 526 strikeouts in 452 1/3 innings in the last two seasons.
"I'll try to take it as constructive criticism," Lincecum said.

24. That might not seem like many but keep in mind the season just started. For comparison, nobody has more than 24.
Also worth noting:
Runs allowed by Tim Lincecum in 2010: 2 Runs driven in by Tim Lincecum in 2010: 3
In other words, he has more RBIs than earned runs allowed.
