Marlins call up Maybin

Cameron Maybin was one of four players called up today by the Florida Marlins. He's expected to be in uniform Tuesday when the Marlins play the Houston Astros.

Maybin, a former Roberson High standout, started his major league career with the Detroit Tigers in the 2007 season where he had 49 at-bats in 24 games. Maybin hit a home run and scored eight times in his stint while batting .143. He was traded during the off season to the Marlins.

Maybin hit .277 during the regular season for the Carolina Mudcats this season. The Mudcats' are the Marlins' Class AA affiliate

Did you see ex-Tigers prospect Cameron Maybin made his Marlins debut Wednesday night? He had a single in two at-bats and picked up and RBI on a bases-loaded walk in a 14-2 victory over the Astros. He then went 4-for-4 with a walk and two runs from the leadoff spot in Thursday's 8-1 win.

Geez, more hits in two games than he had the entire time with us...or so it seems (too lazy to check the accuracy of that statement).
