My Cross Country Tracker. Just something I though I would do.
Today I ran a personal record on one of the toughest courses in the state. It was only my second race, but I did really good.

Nice job. I was never much of a runner - too much work. I can run on a treadmill but not real running.

GOOD JOB

If you try to improve your own record each time, you will be a winner, no matter how you do against the competition!

I need to run more.

I used to run track in 11th and 12th grade. I wasn't very good.

That's okay Jeffrey, you make up for that with all your smarts!

I might be doing a relay on saturday where a friend and I will both run 2.5 miles.

Only 24.1 miles shy of a marathon!

How do people run marathons? They must be crazy as

I can do 4.5 mph walking on the treadmill so tried to jog for five minutes on Monday...omg I can see why I don't do THAT anymore!
But in my day, I was doing the 800m, not finishing all that great, but at least I was good enough to make the team! (Cross country was implemented in my high school the year AFTER I graduated! )

I was going to run a marathon over the course of the day on a treadmill once (with tons of breaks of course). I think I went like 4 miles before my first break. I didn't get back on the treadmill again that day.

That's why I did track. 100 meters and 200 meters and I was done. They had me run a mile once and I didn't do so good...

Although I practiced during the summer and ran a 8 min 30 sec mile. Too bad I didn't practice more often :haha:

Good for you gdennis! I hated cross country, I was too damn lazy to run, that's why I played softball

So I had to get up at 5 this morning to go to a relay that I didnt even run because my partner bailed on me, but I figured I would go and cheer on the four people that were running it. So we stopped at a Starbucks on the way, it was like 2 hours to get there, 1 hour or so for the race, then the awards, the we went to Bob Evans for Lunch, and I got back at like 2:30 and had to help set up for my sisters graduation party. So Im basically ultra tired right now.

Well here is the result of an awesome day with more pics to come.

Well I still have her shades, and she still has my headband.

So the kid on the left is just about the coolest kid ever. Were all wierd like that, so its a norm. And the back, is his dad, just about the most intelligent man Ive ever met. And he made my day by far.

I still say that participating in sports, band, drama or any extra clubs are the best place to find friends. The guys I dated in school came sports, camera clubs, activities club (took care of concessions at plays and sports events) and such.

Enjoy your times with them Garrett, I am sure it will be great!

Participating in extra curricular activities in high school was the best fun of my life When I think back to when I was in school, sports is the first thing I think of now I feel old. Make the most of it

It WAS!!! gawd ya got the rest of yer life to be drinkin' garrett! Just enjoy life w/o the booze and the drugs!

Im never even going near drugs, booze, i might but definitely not in this time period.

Too bad I never did anything cool in high school

I just did stupid stuff that would make me look good on my college applications. I didn't even do much of that because I figured they care mostly about grades so that was all I'd care about.

On second thought, my fast food job that I had for 3 years had its moments.

Looking back through all my high school yearbooks, music and speech were a good way to keep out of trouble!
I worked summers detasseling corn and lifeguarding.

Let's see...what did I do...

Not much. I was in an honor's society thing but not really. I never went to meetings and I never participated in the activities. You had to earn a certain amount of points every year but I just gave them money rather than selling stuff. My diploma says I was a lifetime member though. I was so lazy about the club that when graduation came I didn't go see the leader to see if I qualified for a lifetime member. There was a special sash you wore with your cap and gown, but I didn't pick one up :haha:

I went to school though. My last year of high school I had
AP Chemistry
AP Political Science
AP Literature
AP Calculus
Photography (had to take an art class to graduate)
Human Anatomy and Physiology
Spanish 5
During study hall (which seniors didn't take) and/or after school I went to my Spanish class and my teacher taught me Spanish literature. I was the first-ever student in my county to take the AP Spanish Literature exam...I passed, too.

Also, I took Intro to sociology, intro psychology, cultural anthropology, calculus, world religions, intro to philosophy, and world history at various community colleges that year.

So other than school the only thing I really did for extra curricular was work 20 or so hours a week. I liked that better than other activities as it was more fiscally rewarding.

Ill stick with Cross and baseball.

Ow. Practice killed today. We ran this trail six times, its about a 1000 meter trail altogether. We ran that about 6 times and then had a 20 minute cooldown. My hips and legs and parts of my ass hurts.

Todays practice was rather easy. We ran laps around this pond and did push ups and crunches and variations of that, and other plyos and stuff. And I have a race on Saturday!

I love races! Good thing its an invitational and not a meet cuz I like more just running with the select group of people that do the invitationals.
