www.betus.com has Jeb as a long shot for 2012. There's a whole bunch of Republicans (and Democrats) with better odds than Jeb including Sarah Palin :puke2:
Good news Republican fans...If Palin or Huckabee runs in 2012 I will vote Republican in the primaries.....I'll vote for whoever is running against them.

Please vote, but please investigate the candidates records, not just what they "say" they will do. As my great grandfather said... "Politicians will say ANYTHING to try to get elected. That does not mean they believe what the say!"

Ron Paul is on the ballot in Louisiana with Barry Goldwater, Jr. on the Louisiana Taxpayers Party ticket[1] and in Montana with Michael Peroutka on the Constitution Party of Montana ticket, even though the latter is associated with the national Constitution Party.[2] Paul's supporters also qualified him to receive write-in votes in California. Paul is no longer actively running for president and asked to be removed from the ballot. His request was denied by the Montana Secretary of State, because the request was sent to him too late.[3] On September 22, 2008, Paul announced his support for Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party.[4]

Election Rally: History Suggests Democrats Better for Stocks
The stock market was rallying strongly midday, on track for its biggest election day rally since 1984, Bloomberg reports.
As the market continues its week-long advance, some argue this is evidence of the market warming up to a likely Obama Presidency, while others claim it's merely a snapback from deeply oversold conditions probably.
The answer is probably some combination of the two but, regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum, history shows the stock market fares better under Democratic Presidents vs. their Republican counterparts.
* Since 1901, the S&P rose an average 7.2% under Democratic presidents vs. 3.2% under Republicans, according to Ned Davis Research. * Out of the 10 years of negative stocks performance since 1970, 7 occurred during a Republican-controlled White House versus three under Democrat control, according to Ashraf Laidi of CMC Markets U.S. * In the last seven periods when Democrats had complete control of U.S. political power, the S&P 500 rose 14.7% percent on average, according to Bespoke Investment Group. In the eight times a Republican was president and Democrats controlled Congress, the benchmark index rose 7.4%. * Still, the notion that "gridlock is good" is also borne out, at least in relatively recent history. Of the 28 years of positive stock performance since 1970, 19 occurred during partisan control between the White House and Congress, according to Laidi.
Just some stats (vs. opinions) to keep in mind as you go to the polls and watch the election returns tonight. That said, it's fair to say the current economic environment "really is different" than past election cycles.

I found out last night that GS is correct about the reparations for blacks (and possibly Indians and al-Qaida.) Obama tried to get it passed for blacks in Illinois. In a conversation with an Obama organizer, she indicated that Obama is going to give everyone $1 million. When told the government dosn't have the money to give to everyone, she said it is for all blacks, that is why they have to get him in office! She said the rich whites are going to be forced to pay for her relatives slavery and she would be rich!
I did not believe it until I started researching it. If it is true, I have ancestors, both black and Indian, way back.... do I get some??? Sorry, I would refuse it! Reparations should only be between those involved, not their far relatives. And hell no to reps for al-Qaida!!!
Obama suggests reparations to blacks, Native Americans Says 'the most important thing to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds'

Japanese researchers make brain tissues from stem cells
TOKYO (AFP) – Japanese researchers said Thursday they had created functioning human brain tissues from stem cells, a world first that has raised new hopes for the treatment of disease.
Stem cells taken from human embryos have been used to form tissues of the cerebral cortex, the supreme control tower of the brain, according to researchers at the government-backed research institute Riken.
The tissues self-organised into four distinct zones very similar to the structure seen in human foetuses, and conducted neuro-activity such as transmitting electrical signals, the institute said.
Research on stem cells is seen as having the potential to save lives by helping to find cures for diseases such as cancer and diabetes or to replace damaged cells, tissues and organs.
The team's previous studies showed stem cells differentiated into distinct cells but until now they had never organised into functioning tissues.
"In regenerative therapy, only a limited number of diseases can be cured with simple cell transplants. Transplanting tissues could raise hopes for greater functional recovery," the institute said in a statement.
"Cultivated tissues are still insufficient and too small to be used to treat stroke patients. But study of in-vitro cultivation of more mature cortex tissues, such as those with six zones like in the adult human brain, will be stepped up," it said.
The tissues could also serve as "a mini organ" for use in studying the cause of the Alzheimer's disease and developing vaccines, it said.
Embryonic stem cells are harvested by destroying a viable embryo, a process that some people find unacceptable.
Riken said cortex tissues were also obtained from "induced pluripotent stem cells," which are similar to embryonic stem cells but artificially induced, typically from adult cells such as skin cells.
The research was led by Yoshiki Sasai at Riken Centre for Development Biology in western Japan's Kobe.
The cultivated tissues look like minature mushrooms two millimetres (0.08 inches) in diametre.
The team also succeeded in making cortex tissues from the embryonic stem cells of mice.
Using mouse tissues, scientists confirmed they had formed a network of neurons that properly respond to stimulus.
The tissues can also be selectively induced to different cortex types controlling memories, visual sensation and other tasks.
The findings of the study were published in the November 6 online journal Cell Stem Cell in the United States.

That's the main reason why I voted no on Prop 2. Embryonic stem cell research was already legal in Michigan. Now they have more freedom to do whatever the hell they want while our taxes go up.
