This whole situation is too eerily familiar of Kennedy. Obama will have at least one attempt made on his life. I can sense it.

How would the Supreme Court decide it? If neither candidate gets at least 270 electoral votes (the only plausible scenario is they each get 269....nobody else should get any) there is an electoral college tie and the senate will vote. In the incredibly unlikely even the senate (I think the new senate but I'm not 100% on that) ties the President of the Senate would cast the deciding vote....the President of the Senate is of course the Vice President. As the Senate is (and will remain) controlled by the Democrats, Obama would win a tie.

I'd rather just have the election be a blowout so I they can stop talking about it quickly. 2004 wasn't terribly close yet it still wasn't quite decided even the next day.

I'm not really sure. I am fairly certain that if it is a blowout McCain won't win. I can't imagine any scenario where he gets more than 279 votes (that would require him winning Colorado and New Mexico both of which are already being called )whereas if Obama won every "undecided" state he'd have 381 electoral votes.

------------------

Also alarming for McCain supporters....while he should win Arizona (it is his home state and has gone Republican 13 of the last 14 elections) the latest 3 polls show him leading in Arizona by an average of just 5.33%.

In Illinois, Obama leads the last 3 polls by an average of 22.33%
