WAPPINGER FALLS, NY- The Hudson Valley Renegades (13-16) scored six runs in the second inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers 7-5 before 5,264 fans at Dutchess Stadium on Sunday night.
The Renegades scored six runs in the second inning against Connecticut RHP Josue Carreno (1-4). With one out, RF Burt Reynolds (3-4), 2B Elias Otero (2-4), C Kyle Holloway (2-3) and CF Chris Swinder (1-3) all got singles. Swinder's single drove in two runs for a 2-0 Renegades lead.
LF Brian Bryles (2-4) followed with a two-run triple to make it 4-0 and Hudson Valley tacked on two more runs to take a commanding 6-0 lead.
Connecticut (15-15) quickly added four runs in the third inning to make it 6-4. CF P.J. Polk (2-5) hit a single and moved to third base when LF Ryan Enos (1-4) reached base on a single and advanced on a throwing error by Hudson Valley RHP Miguel Sierra.
An RBI groundout by 3B Matt Perry (1-5) scored Polk from third base to make it 6-1. Enos, who ended up a third base, scored on a wild pitch.
C Eric Roof (1-3) walked and scored on a two-run home run by 2B Chris Sedon (1-3) to make it 6-4.
In the fourth inning, Polk doubled and moved to third base on a balk. Perry hit an RBI single to score Polk and get the Tigers within one run at 6-5.
The Renegades scored a single run in the fifth inning against Connecticut LHP Antonio Cruz. 2B Elias Otero (2-4) singled and moved to second base on a past ball. C Kyle Holloway (2-3) walked and CF Chris Winder (1-2) laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt. Otero and Holloway each advanced into scoring position. LF Brian Bryles (2-4) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Otero for a 7-5 lead.
Hudson Valley scored two more runs in the eighth inning to increase the lead to 9-5.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, August 4 at Dodd Stadium beginning at 6:05 p.m. There will be two seven-inning games with a half-hour break between games one and two.
Connecticut returns home to start a three-game series against the Vermont Lake Monsters at 7:05 p.m. It's a special "Two for Tuesday" at the ballpark presented by Price Chopper where fans can buy one reserved ticket and receive one reserved ticket free when they present their Price Chopper Advantage Card. Additionally, fans can buy one ticket, get one free anywhere in the ballpark when they present a Kraft Singles Wrapper at the Dodd Stadium Box Office. It's also Racing Night where fans can register to win two tickets to the Sylvania 300 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 19. The Tigers and Lake Monsters doubleheader concludes the series. The Tigers will host St. Patrick's in July with special Irish music and green beer at the game. It's also Thirsty Thursday with Budweiser and Bud Light specials at the stadium. The Tigers will send RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-3, 5.91) to the mound in game one and RHP Patrick Lawson (0-0, 3.86) to the hill in game two. Vermont has yet to announce starting pitchers. STATEN ISLAND, NY- The Staten Island Yankees (20-16) scored four runs over the first four innings to beat the Connecticut Tigers 6-3 before 4,306 fans at Richmond County Ballpark on Thursday night.
The Yankees scored two runs in the second inning against Connecticut starter RHP Clemente Mendoza (2-4). 1B Kyle Roller (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a double by SS Jose Mojica (2-4). C Nick McCoy (0-2) grounded out to second base to score Roller for a 1-0 Yankees lead.
Mojica moved to third base on the groundout. 2B Luis Parache (1-3) reached base on an error to score Mojica for a 2-0 advantage.
After Staten Island scored a run in the third inning, Parache led off the fourth inning for the Yankees and pulled a fastball off the right field foul pole for a solo home run and a 4-0 lead.
Connecticut (20-18) scored two runs in the sixth inning against Staten Island LHP Nik Turley (1-2). CF P.J. Polk (1-4) led off the inning with a single and moved to second base on a walk issued to LF Ryan Enos (1-2).
3B Josh Ashenbrenner (1-4) singled to score Polk and cut the lead down to 4-1.
Enos moved to third base on the play and scored on a throwing error by Staten Island 2B Luis Panache to make it 4-2. Ashenbrenner then got caught between first and second base in a run down when Panache threw the ball away from first base. Enos trotted in from third base to cut the lead in half.
2B Alexander Nunez (1-4) grounded out to move Ashenbrenner to third base and 1B James Robbins (0-4) followed with an RBI groundout to score Ashenbrenner and make it 4-3.
The Yankees scored two runs in the sixth inning to increase the lead to 6-4 on a two-run double by 2B Casey Stevenson (1-5).
Mendoza started the game and took the loss. He went six innings and allowed six runs on eight hits for the Tigers.

STATEN ISLAND, NY-RHP Patrick Lawson (1-0) pitched five innings and C Eric Roof (1-4) and 1B James Robbins (2-5) each hit home runs to lead the Connecticut Tigers (21-18) to a 7-1 win over the Staten Island Yankees (30-17) before 7,171 fans at Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Friday night.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Staten Island RHP Mike Gipson. CF P.J. Polk (2-4) reached base on an error and stole second base. A sacrifice bunt by RF Ryan Enos (1-4) moved Polk to third base. Robbins hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 1-0 Tigers lead.
Robbins moved to second base on a throwing error by Staten Island 2B Casey Stevenson. He scored all the way from second base on a wild pitch. Yankees C Francisco Arcia couldn't find the baseball and Robbins crossed home plate thanks to aggressive base running for a 2-0 lead. Roof hit a solo home run in the third inning and Robbins added a two-run home run as part of a three-run fifth inning.
The Tigers added an insurance run in the seventh inning when Robbins was hit by a pitch and moved to second base on a single by 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-4). DH Matt Perry (2-4) hit an RBI single to plate Robbins and make it 7-1.

NORWICH-The Lowell Spinners (12-33) scored a single run in the second inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers (23-21) 1-0 before 1,152 fans at Dodd Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Lowell scored it's run against Connecticut starter Clemente Mendoza (2-5). LF Brandon Jacobs (1-4) crushed a change up over the left field wall for his third home run of the season in a 1-0 Lowell lead.
Mendoza tossed seven innings and surrendered just one run on three hits to suffer the loss. The Tigers recorded just two hits in the game on Tuesday.

BROOKLYN, NY-The Connecticut Tigers (27-23) scored four runs in the third inning en route to a 6-3 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones (34-16) before 8,047 fans at MCU Park on Sunday.
The Tigers scored four runs in the third inning against Brooklyn RHP Wes Wrenn (3-3). CF P.J. Polk (0-5) reached base on an error and moved to second base on a single by LF Ryan Enos (1-5).
2B Alexander Nunez (2-5) grounded out to move Enos to second base and 1B James Robbins (1-5) hit an RBI single to score Polk for a 1-0 lead.
With the Robbins single moving Enos to third base, the Tigers tried a double-steal. Robbins took off from first to second base, drawing a throw from Brooklyn C Blake Forysth. Once Forsyth unleashed the throw, Enos broke for home plate and scored to make it 2-0.
C Julio Rodriguez (3-5) followed with a two-run home run off the left field scoreboard to make it 4-0.
The Tigers scored a run in the fifth inning. Nunez led off the inning with a double and moved to third base when Robbins reached on an error. Nunez scored on a balk for a 5-0 lead.
The Cyclones scored two runs in the sixth inning. 1B Jeff Flagg (1-3) hit a solo home run over the left field wall to cut the lead to four runs at 5-1. 2B Joe Bonfe (1-4) doubled and moved to third base on a throwing error by Tigers C Julio Rodriguez.
LF Wil Cherry (1-3) laced an RBI single to score Bonfe and cut the lead to 5-2.
Connecticut scored a run in the seventh inning. RF Chao-Ting Tang (1-4) singled home 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (2-5) to advance the lead to 6-2.
The Cyclones scored a run in the ninth inning against LHP Logan Hoch, who pitched three innings to get his fourth save of the season.
Mendoza picked up the win by pitching six innings and allowing one earned run on six hits.

BROOKLYN, NY-The Brooklyn Cyclones (35-16) scored five runs on nine hits to defeat the Connecticut Tigers (27-24) by a score of 5-2 before 7,346 fans at MCU Park on Monday afternoon.
The Cyclones scored two runs in the third inning against Connecticut RHP Patrick Lawson (2-1). RF Wil Cherry (2-4) singled and moved to third base on a single by LF Cody Holliday (1-2).
SS Justin Schaeffer (3-5) and 2B J.B. Brown (1-3) followed with a pair of RBI singles for a 2-0 Brooklyn lead.
Brooklyn added a run in the fifth inning. Holliday walked and moved to second base on a single by Schaeffer. Both runners advanced one base on a wild pitch by Lawson. Brown walked to load the bases and CF Cory Vaughn (1-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to center field to score Holliday and make it 3-0.
The Tigers scored a single run in the sixth inning. LF Ryan Enos (1-4) doubled and moved to third base on a past ball. 2B Alexander Nunez (0-3) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to score Enos and trim the Brooklyn lead to 3-1.
Brooklyn added two runs in the sixth inning to make it 5-1.

JAMESTOWN, NY-The Jamestown Jammers (31-20) broke a 4-4 tie with an RBI double from LF Ryan Fisher in the seventh inning earn a 5-4 win over the Connecticut Tigers (27-25) before 2,083 fans at Diehtrick Park on Tuesday night.
The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning against Jamestown RHP Rett Varner. CF Ryan Enos (1-3) and LF Chao-Ting Tang (1-5) started the inning with back-to-back singles.
2B Alexander Nunez(1-2) laid down a sacrifice bunt up the third base line that moved both runners into scoring position. 3B Josh Ashenbrenner (0-4) grounded out to second base to score Enos and move Tang to third base. C Julio Rodriguez (2-4) hit an RBI single to score Tang and make it 2-0.
The Jammers scored four runs in the fifth inning to take the 4-2 lead. C Wilfredo Gimenez (1-4) led off the inning with a single and DH James Wooster (2-4) struck out. 3B Aury Diaz (2-4) and CF Brent Keys (1-2) followed with back-to-back singles to load the bases.
2B Danny Black (1-4) reached on a fielder's choice. Gimenez scored from third base to cut the Connecticut lead to 2-1.SS Todd Muecklisch (0-1) walked to load the bases and Fisher hit a bases-clearing triple to make it 4-2 Jamestown.
Connecticut quickly started it's comeback with a single run scoring in the sixth inning. Nunez led off the inning with a single and stole second base. Ashenbrenner flew out to center field to move Nunez to third base. Rodriguez reached base on an error and Nunez scored to bring the Tigers within one run at 4-3.
In the seventh inning the Tigers executed a breathtaking double steal. RF Londell Taylor (0-3) was hit by a pitch and went to second base on a sacrifice fly by Enos. Tang grounded out to move Taylor to third base. Nunez walked and the Tigers tried a double steal. Nunez drew a throw to second base and Taylor scored from third to tie the game at 4-4.
Jamestown went ahead in the seventh inning. Fisher lifted a ground rule double over the right field wall to score Black from second base and make it 5-4.

Tonight's game between the Connecticut Tigers and the Auburn Doubledays at Dodd Stadium has been postponed. The Tiger's team bus broke down in western New York while returning from a road trip, and won't be back to Norwich in time for tonight's game.So the Tigers are opening the gates and welcoming the fans to a Free Friday the 13th Fan Fest highlighted by a Spectacular Fireworks Show! There will be activities on the concourse and on the field throughout the evening. Gates open at 6:00 pm. Mendoza pitched the second complete game of the season for the Tigers. He allowed one run on five hits without a walk and six strikeouts. In game two, the Doubledays scored one run against Tigers RHP Patrick Lawson (2-2) in the second inning. LF Steve McQuail (2-3) reached base on an error to lead off the inning. NORWICH-The Tri-City ValleyCats (28-29) scored three runs in the third inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers (29-29) by a score of 6-0 before 814 fans at Dodd Stadium on Wednesday night in the opener of a two-game series.
The ValleyCats scored a run in the first inning against Connecticut starter Josue Carreno (4-6). 2B Kike Hernandez (4-5) singled and moved to third base on an error by Tigers CF P.J. Polk. 3B Tyler Burnett (1-3) walked and CF Daniel Adamson (1-5) grounded out. Hernandez scored from third base for a 1-0 ValleyCats lead.
Tri-City added to it's lead in the third inning. Hernandez hit a two-out single and scored on a two-run home run by Burnett.
Adamson reached base on an error and stole second base. A throwing error by Connecticut C Eric Roof allowed Adamson to move to third base. He scored on a double by DH Michael Kvasnicka to make it 4-0.
Adamson also hit a solo home run in the seventh inning against RHP Tim Mowry to increase the lead to 5-0.
The Tigers and ValleyCats finish their two-game series on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. It's Wrestling Night with a special appearance by WWE legend George "The Animal" Steele. It's also Thirsty Thursday with Bud and Bud Light specials at Dodd Stadium all night. RHP Jake Buchanan (3-4, 3.92) gets the start for Tri-City against RHP Brennan Smith (0-4, 3.54) for Connecticut. NORWICH-The Tri-City ValleyCats scored one run in the second inning and two runs in the fourth inning to beat the Connecticut Tigers 3-2 before 1,033 fans at Dodd Stadium on Thursday night.
The ValleyCats scored a run in the first inning. C Christopher Wallace hit a single and scored on a double by RF Adam Bailey for a 1-0 Tri-City lead.
In the fourth inning, 3B Michael Kvasnicka singled and scored on a two-run home run by 1B Marcus Nidiffer for a 3-0 ValleyCat advantage.
Connecticut scored a run in the seventh inning. CF Ryan Enos walked with two outs in the inning and moved to second base when 3B Josh Ashenbrenner reached base on an error by Tri-City 3B Michael Kvasnicka.
SS Brett Anderson blooped a double into right field to score Enos and make it 3-1.
In the eighth inning, the Tigers got within one run at 3-2. 2B Alexander Nunez singled and moved to second base on a ground out by C Julio Rodriguez.
1B Matt Perry doubled to score Nunez and get the Tigers within one run at 3-2.
The Tigers welcome in the Staten Island Yankees for the first of a three-game series on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. It's another Friday Fireworks Show sponsored by XtraMart Convenience Stores and Atlas PyroVision.
