Tigers games I've been to

Last night I found my ticket stubs to Tiger games that I've been to. My first game was in 1999 and I've been to at least one game a year since except for 2005. I don't know if I'll go to one this year. I thought I'd look up the box scores to these games to see how the Tigers have changed since then. After starting out 0-8, I am now on a 3 game winning streak; so I'm 3-8 in the 11 games I've been too.

1st Game - Tiger Stadium - 9/11/99 - 5:05pm - Sec 228 Row N Seat 4 - $15.00

Notes: Luis Polonia lead-off the bottom of the first inning with a HR. Francisco Cordero took the loss and Paul Spoljaric took the win (which ended up being the last one he'd ever receive). Spoljaric also had a blown save. Every Tiger had at least one hit except Deivi Cruz. Carpenter only lasted 3 innings giving up 4 ER.

This was my 1st and last game at Tiger Stadium...

You'll have to go to at least 5 this year though otherwise I'll have a 5 game lead at the end of the year.

We've each seen them win 3 times.

Notes: Tigers lead all the way until the 9th inning when Jones gave up 3 runs in the 9th for his 1st BS of the year. Roberto Hernandez got the win for the Devil Rays. Gerald Williams homered for the Devil Rays and Dean Palmer homered for the Tigers. Palmer also had an error. Higginson stole his 1st base of the year and walked 3 times.

Yeah, I don't go very often so I don't think I'll go to 5 this year. I haven't been to more than 2 a year. If I go at all this year, it'll probably only be to one game.

Notes :Todd Ritchie got his first win of the year after 8 straight losses. Mlicki took the loss giving up 7 runs in 3 2/3 innings. Dave Borkowski relieved him and gave up 6 runs in 1 inning. Pirates sent 13 men to the plate in the 4th inning, scoring 9 times. Jackson got the only Tigers extra-base hits - a double and a triple.

I bought a souvenir cup in this game that I still have. Although it's cracked down one side...

Notes: Schoenweis pitched 8 innings, gave up both runs (earned) and got the win. Weaver pitched 7 innings, gave up 3 ER and took the loss. Troy Percival pitched the 9th for the save. Danny Patterson gave up the other run in the 9th. Anderson and Kennedy each had 3 hits for Anaheim. There were a total of 6 errors in the game that lead to 0 unearned runs - Kennedy, Eckstein, Cardona, Cruz, Encarnacion, and Halter.

Notes: *Suites aren't usually free. This ticket doesn't have a price on it and I'm too lazy to find out how much it actually was. I was given this ticket, so it was free to me. One of the few perks of being in the Robotics Club...

Ted Lilly got the win, pitching 7 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits and 1 ER. Mike Maroth took his 8th straight loss pitching 6 1/3 innings on 5 hits and 3 ER. Foulke pitched the 9th for the save. Steve Sparks finished the game for Maroth, so I got to see a knuckleballer! Chad Bradford also pitched in relief for Oakland, rounding up the pitchers. Tejada got 2 RBI despite hitting only .209 at the time. Halter homered to give the Tigers their only run. Munson stole his 2nd base of his career.

Notes: I guess this is what you'd call a "slug fest." Chris Spurling took the loss and Brendan Donnelly got the win. A total of 11 pitchers were used (Anaheim-4, Tigers-7). The only pitcher to not give up a run was Francisco Rodriguez who pitched a perfect 10th. Robertson went 6 innings giving up 3 ER. Jamie Walker, Eric Eckenstahler and Matt Roney got holds despite giving up 1 ER each, pitching less than an inning each. Steve Sparks and Chris Spurling both got BS giving up 1 and 4 ER respectively. Ledezma finished the game, giving up 3 ER. The other side had Washburn going 6 innings giving up 5 ER despite allowing only 3 hits. Gary Glover pitched an inning allowing an ER. Brendan Donnelly pitched 2 innings giving up 2 ER to get a BS.

As far as hitting, Owens went 5-6, Riggs went 3-3 with a SB. Spiezio got the big hit for Anaheim, a bases-loaded 2B allowing 3 runs to score in the 10th. Angels didn't score until the 7th inning, putting up 4 runs in the 7th, 3 runs in the 8th, 1 run in the 9th, and 6 runs in the 10th. Monroe had the big night for the Tigers, going deep twice and knocking in 6 runs. Pena also homered.

So far I'm 0-7 and 0-1 in extra innings.

Notes: My 1st Tigers win! Pitching dual all the way. Benson went the full 8 innings allowing both runs (earned) to take the loss. Robertson also went 8 innings to take the win while Jones pitched the 9th for the save. Tejada got a 2B, and Patterson with the 3B was about the extent of Baltimore's offense. Pudge's 2B in the 3rd and Infante's sac fly in the 7th led to the 2 runs. That sac fly turned into a double play - 8-3-5.

Notes: Chad Durbin got the win in relief, Joakim Soria took the loss (in fact it's the last loss he's gotten). de la Rosa went 4 1/3 innings allowing 7 ER. Verlander went 5 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs (4 earned). Todd Jones blew a save, allowing 2 ER in the 9th. 5 HR were hit during this game: John Buck hit the only one for KC, Raburn started the 1st inning off with his first career HR, Polanco and Monroe also homered and of course Inge's walk-off in the 10th.

Ok, I lied. I've been to more games, but I don't have the proof. I saw that game where Pudge hit a walk-off homer in the 9th, but I don't have the ticket stub. I probably have another stack somewhere, so there's a very likely possibility I also went to a game in '05, I just don't have the proof. I have a very bad memory, so I can't remember exactly how many games I've been to (that's the reason why I keep these stubs!). So I'm 3-8 in games that I have proof that I've been to.

I found another one. I must've gotten lazy around 2005-06 and have tickets lying around all over the place. I think I've been closer to 20 games than the 12 that I have proof for. Anyways...

It was Carmona's 3rd blown save in a row and he was taken out of that role after this game. Joel Zumaya got the win in relief. Indians only managed 4 hits, but 2 of them were HR (in the 1st inning); one by Hafner and one by Blake. Blake got another hit in the 3rd, accounting for half of Cleveland's hits. Hafner's BB in the 5th was the only other Indians baserunner. Thames homered in the 5th. Tigers would score an unearned run in the 7th. Then Pudge's 2-run walk-off HR in the 9th to win it for the Tigers.

Record: 4-8 to games I have proof for.

I could do every MLB I've been to period which would include 30ish Dodger games or so.

I got Verlander's No hitter ticket Stub, WS ticket stubs, Playoffs and HR Derby and All Star stubs; and a lot of those are wrinkled and folded.

I have no idea where my fanfest stub is though!


Or the Futures Game and Celebrity Softball stub is either?

Those ticket stubs (especially playoffs and All-Star games) are worth money if they're in good shape.

My ticket stubs [ what few I have] all look crappy.


I have a bad habit of folding them and holding them in my hand [ kind of a nervous habit] when I am watching the Tigers, especially in crucial situations.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I won $10 at this game. Before the game we all put in $1 on who will hit the last HR of the game and I went with Pudge.
