Too bad the Tigers didn't draft him in 2006. The Giants took him first though instead of who we got.

What an awful game

5IP, 5ER (all in one awful inning). ERA skyrockets to 2.60 which is best in the NL but only 0.09 ahead of Jake Peavy. 6 K's extend his giant lead even further...he's also 8 ahead of Sabathia for the ML lead in K's.

Luckily the Giants scored 5 times and he'll get a no-decision so his winning% remains the best in the NL.

Poor Lincecum, he shoulda won that game last night.

I think it's because I didn't watch - I had school during the game

Despite his worst outing of the year he still has the best ERA in the NL so I can't complain. With the non-win it'll be almost impossible to win the triple crown now. He's 4 wins behind Webb and has probably 4 starts to go.

Oh well, 15-3 plus whatever happens the next 4 starts is pretty damn good considering the Giants are pretty bad.

I felt bad for him not finishing the game Announcers said Lincecum looked upset that he couldn't get his first-ever complete game. Then the idiot pitcher for the Giants makes an error at the end. Lincecum gave up 2 runs (1 ER) but it would have been 0 if the pitcher could catch the toss to complete the 3-6-1 DP to end the game. Since you can't assume a DP the first run was earned.

I watched most of it on Gameday of course.
And...that's their bullpen for you.
He might as well have used Wilson, I mean it couldn't have hurt.

Nah - he was tiring badly. The 2nd batter of the game got a double. Nobody got to 2nd again until the 7th inning. He gave up a ton of hits those last couple innings and if not for some DPs he was going to give up tons of runs. He was close to 130 pitches so it's not like they yanked him after like 85 pitches a la Jim Leyland.

At baseball-fever.com (which is probably the most well-respected baseball message board there is...and also neutral in terms of teams/players) the general consensus is that not only Lincecum is the front-runner, but it's not even close.

Speaking of baseball-fever...the general consensus is that whatever the opposite of the Cy Young award is in the AL should go to Nate Robertson. Yeah, he's that bad
