Weather thread- 2007-2008 Edition #2

Life is different here. This is where my grandparents lived over 50 years, and I grew up in Michigan and lived 13 years in FL (which was just MI, NY, NJ transplants). I have been here since 1992, but still don't feel comfortable with the living standards here. My mom and I laugh at stuff around here and say "Only in the Ohio Valley!"

I would love to move back to Michigan or northernwestern Ohio, but the cost of living is less here. You can still buy decent 1500 square foot homes for around $60 to $100 K (with lower property taxes) here compared to Michigan where the same thing was running $150K up.

Right now the home prices have come down in MI, but I don't know if we could sell our 1800 sq foot, 100 year old, updated home in todays market. I love the quality of workmanship in these old Oak filled homes.

We had a 5000 sq foot mansion, down the street from us, that was built as a duplex for one of the towns rich founding families, that sold for $90K. They said the replacement value today would be $750,000! I sure wish I had had the money to buy it, update it (for around $75,000 to $100,000) and then sold it for $500,000!

Yeah! I wish I had more money! Damn Politicians keep raising taxes for less services

We had six inches before Christmas and 1.7 on New Years, Has not snowed since in Trashy Park


There is a Rain Snow Mix on Sunday and a chance of Snow Showers Sat Night and Sunday Night but it don't look like it will be much, especially south of Detroit

Winter does whatever the hell it wants to....

It will be 38 for Tigerfest. I hope my Uncle and Aunt enjoy going. After all, I bought them the tickets

My Uncle and Aunt are cool: My Dad died when I was a teenager: He has kind of been like a dad to me! He has Lions Season Tickets and takes me a lot, so that was the least I could do.

I should have got myself a ticket but I didn't think they sell out so fast. I ain't paying big bucks online to wait for hours to get an autograph either!



Can't wait for Opening Day

I don't have a credit card and I had to use my mom's, Only had enough money [ when they went on sale] for two tickets.
