Hey, a couple threads have 1000+ posts and didn't auto-lock.

Well that's quite odd. I keep trying to merge the two weather threads but it automatically splits them and locks the old one.

Why isn't this thread or some other 1000+ post threads auto-locking

I don't care if that feature works or doesn't work, but why is it only working for that one thread?

I just shoveled about a half a foot of snow...

Lucky you! 2.3 inches of snow in Trashy Park; Metro Airport had 3 inches; White Lake NWS Office had about 6 and Flint had 12.9 inches;

No more snow; 33 on Friday; Upper 30s Friday Night and early Saturday [ of course so our piddly two inches of snow melts] then it gets windy like crazy Saturday and Sunday; Temps fall to 9 by Sunday Morning



This whole winter has sucked; We miss the heavy snow and get lots of wind

Maybe next year will be better; but with the war and the government secretly altering weather patterns to train the military it probably won't


Should have elected Ron Paul! Now we get MCCAIN; who will increase war into Iran, as our next president.


Be better off with Bush for four more years

Constitution Party for me this year. They will be choosing a Pres candidate in Apr. Maybe Mitt will join them. They are trying for Ron Paul.

Alaska and Northern Canada; It will be brutal the next 48 hours; But temps will be near 30 by Wednesday and Thursday

Growing up, it always came from Alberta, hence "Alberta Clipper"...

Actually; an Alberta Clipper is a storm that originates in Alberta [ hence the name] and swings across the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes Regions; the usually aren't big snow storms because they are fast moving and don't pull the moisture up from the south[ which you need to fuel snowstorms]. They usually bring 1-2 maybe 2-4 inches, though sometimes they can bring 3-6 inches in a few hours.


This cold snap was an arctic front that came down over the Dakotas and Montana and moved eastward. The good news is the the bitter cold will be brief and will move eastward rather than plunging to the deep south, such as Florida and Georgia.

By Tuesday; Temps will be in the mid to upper 20's with some light snow possible, maybe an inch or so.

7 degrees with - 13 degree wind chill; Temps near zero tonight with - 20 wind chills.

They can't be right when Heavy snow is predicted for Trashy Park but they are always right about the wind;


Why can't that miss us?

Not much snow either this week; Maybe an inch on Tuesday but it looks like most of the snow will move from the upper Plains, Wisconsin and Chicago and dip down and miss Detroit.

Could be 3-5 inches south of Toledo;
