UTENSIL OF THE DAY:

Let's discuss a new utensil every day! Today's utensil:

Spoiler:

Who knows what it is? Who knows how to use it? What have you done with it? When was the last time you used one? Do you own one? How many? What kinds? How much did they cost?

Answer those questions and discuss all things related to today's utensil!

Do you really want to know?

No, I borrow the neighbors.
I already said no.
Do plastic ones count?
Free, I stole them from the salad bar at Ponderosa.

You don't own a real fork? They have them at Denny's. Actually, that reminds me - I was at Denny's once with a bunch of people and this guy I knew thought he'd be funny and grab all the forks so we wouldn't use them. He put them in his pocket, and then forgot about them. We got back to whomever's place we went to, he took off his jacket and there were like 8 forks in it...

That's cool, too! My dad always stole sugar, ketchup, napkins, and other condiments from every fast food place he went to. I don't think he's bought a napkin in his life...

MI resisted it for a long time. I think they cut it out in Cal LONG before they stopped it here. You can still smoke in bars here.

Aren't there places in Michigan that still allow smoking. I was at some place in Fenton (or somewhere) and people were smoking. It was a restaurant but had a bar section...

Smoking has been illegal in CA for like 15 years or so...

Yeah but not many... if it can be called a bar, like say Applebees, then yes, they still allow it. Fewer and fewer places allow smoking anymore though...they have banned smoking on the beach now :haha:

You can smoke at Applebees? Not here. Here smoking is allowed in SOME bars, but only bar-bars (you know, the ones that don't allow under-21's have pool tables, etc.). Some entire CITIES have banned smoking in CA. In this one city near LA it's illegal to smoke outside unless you are in your front/backyard. You can't smoke anywhere in public!

Yes, last time I was there, about 4 months or so ago, you could still smoke at Applebees. And dude... whole cities?? hahaha I heard awhile back that they wanted to ban smoking in your own car, but nothing ever came of it.

I guess I could chime in on today's utensil...

  • It's a rolling pin!
  • I DO know how to use one.
  • I have rolled out pie crusts with it.
  • I last used one in mid-September to make a pie.
  • Yes, we own ONE.
  • It's wooden.
  • I doubt it cost much - it's pretty old and things were cheap back then. Heck, even today rolling pins are fairly cheap...

UTENSIL OF THE DAY NUMBER 2:

Today's utensil:

Spoiler:

Who knows what it is? Who knows how to use it? What have you done with it? When was the last time you used one? Do you own one? How many? What kinds? How much did they cost?

Answer those questions and discuss all things related to today's utensil!

A rolling pin!
I do!
Beat children?
When I beat the children last night?
I own 2!
2 lol
A wooden one and a marble one
They were both free.

Did you steal those, too??? Do you have any non-stolen utensils/appliances? I forgot you can beat children with 'em. They'd be great for that!

It's a blender
Well you put things in there to mix up and blend
Made smoothies/shakes
My sister made me something with her Magic Bullet if that counts....
Not officially
One

My answers!

  • I do! It's a blender!
  • I can use it!
  • I have made smoothies with mine although they're good for making alcoholic beverages, too. Mine says it can make salsa and stuff, but I haven't tried.
  • I last used mine about 5 hours ago for a smoothie.
  • I own 2 - a blender which I never use and a generic magic bullet.
  • It was $20. Actually, I like it BETTER than the Magic Bullet (which I have used). The cups are bigger and it seems to work better. It's great!
