But I don't think you can pick retired players You can pick retired players. Barry Bonds was picked last year. Just so you know, in order to earn points, the player has to at least see action in a game. Active players are more likely to see action then retired players.

| We need at least 2 more people. If we don't get them by the time ST starts, then I'm going to have to cancel this. | |

JJ will give you innings, wins and K's (not to mention ERA). Devine might not even be the closer, Brad Ziegler could very well get the job. Devine won't help you if he's not the closer regardless of how good his ERA will be.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. There is always going to be someone not drafted that will get 10-12 wins and an ERA of under 4.00. Galarraga, Dempster and Lee weren't drafted mostly last year. You really have to pay attention in April though and grab those guys in a hurry. One key strategy is always to trade a mediocre pitcher for a hitter. A hitter can help you everyday while a pitcher can only help you every 5 days. And pitchers are much more easier to replace than hitters. Also, a pitcher is more streaky than a hitter, so if you trade them at their peak, you can make out like a bandit. Imagine trading Dempster for a guy like Beltran last year.

| Thought so, but if I did that, the guy Im trading would have Pujols and Fielder as 1B and Utility, compared to my Prince Fielder and Carlos Delgado. | |

It doesn't matter, you'd be making out with the pitching. Maybe you can flip Zambrano and Delgado for someone better, like Justin Morneau or Adrian Gonzalez? Or if you get really lucky, Lance Berkman, Mark Teixeira or Miguel Cabrera? Maybe you can substitute JJ in for Zambrano if you want to keep him. Also, look out for Chris Davis. If you can get him without giving up so much, do it. His eligibility at 3B and 1B is a plus. Maybe you can trade Delgado in a package for him?

That was from a different league. It doesn't look like we're doing one here with the lack of interest.
