A word of advice (for the ladies only, I would hope lol)

About 5 years years ago my mother had this weird thing in her head, they thought it was a tumor but it was nerves that were thickening, anyways she had surgery on it and they killed some nerves in her face and now half of her face is numb but no more headaches and blurry vision, it was weird. When you said that I thought I had told you about it :haha:

And you didn't answer me, is this oozing stuff normal??

I would get it checked just to rule out infection.

Oozing is a normal function, but just to be sure. It might take a round of antibiotics to clear.
Watch for swelling or red streaking as well.

The oozing is actually making it feel better, as gross as that sounds. I can feel it draining, sorta like sweat but thicker. We have a med stop a few miles away, maybe I'll find a baby sitter and run up there. It's been almost 2 days and it's not getting better, it seems worse. bah, what an idiot

And oh yeah, it's been swollen since it happened.

Yup. Time to get it checked out.

Well that was fun

I have second degree chemical burn that is now infected.. in my arm pit <-- not really

They gave me this antibiotical cream and I have to keep it covered, which SUCKS because it hurts like hell to have anything ON it.

So yeah, explaining to people that I am a total idiot is always fun This lady nurse kept looking at me like "Are you stupid??!" and asking me stupid things like, "Didn't you feel it burning?" Well YES I felt it burning and that's when I washed it off DUH And then telling me "You should never put Nair there." No, really?? And then to top it all off, she says afterwards, "I bet you don't do that again." No head, I'm going to go home and do my other arm now because I like you!!

Nurses can certainly be abrasive, trust me. I've dealt with my share of crusty ones. Usually what has happened is so many other people, patients and doctors, have ranked on them so they need to take it out on other poor patients and office clerks, usually in some sick passive-aggressive way. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Don't use sandpaper to try and remove the rash. It won't work, trust me.

The doctor was really nice. He was like "Wow, you are in some pain" as soon as he looked at it. But that woman, omg I coulda smacked her :haha: I mean, yes, I will be the 1st to admit it wasn't the brightest thing I've ever done to myself, however, get over the stupidity and just make me better! Yes, we've established I'm a moron, now make it stop hurting!!

I sure hope this stuff works fast. Apparently the fact that I wasn't covering it caused it to be infected.

ty for the advice, I wouldn't have gone anywhere and just let it ooze all over for a few more days :haha:

I'm sorry. I hurt just thinking about it. They really should put a warning for that on there. You could sue for pain and suffering (and we could go to Florida with the money you get :haha:)

Don't feel stupid Soulrat. The box said it was safe, or at least it didn't say it was harmful so it's not your fault. I never would have thought that it would cause a burn like that. Thankfully you went to the doctor and now it should start getting better fairly quick.

Thanks you guys I think I'm starting to get better, it seems to be shrinking and drying up around the outside a little bit and it has started to itch. And it looks like I've now got blisters under the raw skin, but the doctor I saw at the med stop told me that might happen. It's gross :haha:

The antibiotics make me sick

If it makes you sick (barfy), you should get on another one! If you can't keep it down, it can't do anything for you....

I have always had this problem with antibiotics, they make me pukey They gave me Keflex which is the only thing I CAN keep down but it still makes me feel icky. They are staying down though, they just don't really want to

That's a pretty good one to be on...they should've given you some Phenergan or Zofran along with for nausea!
