Former Detroit Tiger Mickey Lolich throws out the ceremonial first
pitch against the St. Louis Cardinals at Comerica Park in Detroit on
Tuesday June 24, 2008. Lolich, who won three games in the 1968 World
Series to help the Tigers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, was one of the
players from the Detroit Tigers 1968 World Championship team honored
before the Tigers' game against Cardinals on Tuesday night.

Tigers greats Gates Brown, Willie Horton and Al Kaline stand with the
rest of the 1968 Tigers World Championship team that was honored
Tuesday before the game.

Tigers great Denny McClain autographs a throw-back, give-away jersey for fan Angela Moen, 15, of Plymouth.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland talks with Denny McClain in the dugout before the game.

Leyland smiles from the dugout as the 1968 Tigers championship team is introduced.

“It takes pitching, hitting and defense. Any two can win. All three make you unbeatable.”
