Petition to Lower Gas Prices!!

There is a petition that I have signed that I would like everyone to consider signing! The US currently has approximately 38 Billion barrels of oil at it's fingertips, and 1 TRILLION barrels of oil Shale that would reduce (or eliminate) our dependace on foreign oil. Problem is...it's in places that are protected by law (due to environmental concerns...aka the "wildlife").

According to what I have read online (from various sources), by tapping these resourses, we could reduce the cost of oil from the current $131 per barrel to an amazing $2 per barrel! Can you say $1 per gallon for gas (if not LESS)???

Below is a link to the petition that will be sent to congress. With enough signatures, we can tell Washington that we are tired of $4.00 a gallon for gas and they MUST do something to allow us to drill for our own oil. Not only will it reduce the price of gas, but it will create MANY new jobs and strengthen our economy! This is a win-win situation! Let's send a message to OPEC that they can find someone else to get rich off of, and tell Washington that we need to start using our own natural resourses!

Well...I saw nothing on the website about an age requirement, but you do have to be 18 to vote, so it may not be allowed, as it's going to congress. There have been over 500,000 "signatures" so far!

Lower gas prices? I love paying $4.59 a gallon though!
