Tigers raise ticket prices

DETROIT -- After setting a franchise attendance record in 2007, the Tigers are raising their ticket prices for 2008. But not by much.

The club announced a $2 hike for nine of 17 price categories, with the other eight categories remaining unchanged. Bleacher seats, for example, will cost $12 in 2008, compared to $10 in 2007.

The Tigers said that prices for 12,000 of Comerica Park's 41,000 seats will remain unchanged, and also that more than half the seats in the park will be priced at $22 or less. The cheapest seats in the park, the upper-deck ``skyline'' seats, will remain at $5.

Single game tickets will go on sale March 1.

The Tigers also announced their full 2008 schedule. They had previously released only the home schedule.

Also, the Tigers said that they will close spring training with a two-game series in Houston against the Astros.

He made millions of interest on playoff invoices! I paid 1,175 in August and still haven't got back my money minus what is applied towards next year; Hopefully I will have enough left to buy that new Tigers Jacket

But Ilitch has no problem helping that idiot RUDY G raise money for his campaign

It's not just the Tigers - everyone does it. My seats at Dodger Stadium were $4 last year (front row right behind home plate......top deck though!). The year before they were $3 and they were $2 the year before. While a $1 per ticket increase may seem like nothing, that's still a 50% increase the first time and 33% increase the second time. Parking went from $7 in 2006 to $15 in 2007. You can't even pick your spot! They have all these moron parking attendants flagging you down to a spot.

I'll park in the parking lot right outside the stadium for free thank you very much! What else is great is the dumbasses get there early so they can pay to park. I'll get there for the game, take my free spot and there'll be tons of cars lined up waiting for the stadium lots to open! I get out of there quicker, too - I get in my car and I'm right at the freeway onramp. No fighting traffic in the parking lot! Of course the 15 mile drive home takes 1.5 hours but that's another story...
