| Oh man, give Leyland a user for this board so he reads these ideas!! Some shots into his shoulders will not make Sheff hit. He needs time. | Gary Sheffield to begin rehab assignment Monday
The Tigers announced this afternoon that designated hitter Gary Sheffield will begin an injury rehabilitation assignment Monday at Class A Lakeland. Sheffield believes he’s only “days” away from rejoining the active roster.
“I’m ready now,” he said Sunday.
Sheffield was not required to go to Lakeland, but he went along with the team’s request that he do so.
He has been on the disabled list since May 27 with a left oblique strain. He took batting practice Sunday and said afterward that he was able to swing comfortably. He also took fly balls in the outfield and tested his arm.
“I moved around out there great,” he said. “No setbacks or limitations.” | |

Larish has been getting the most playing time DHing lately. He didn't play today because of the southpaw starting. Thames was the DH today because Raburn is a better defender in LF. | |

| I agree. I haven't been impressed with him since his call-up. Not that he won't produce for us...but I don't think that what he has shown so far is exactly what the Tigers had in mind when he got the call. | |

| It sure couldn't hurt! I'd love to see him get the call up. If he does though, It'll probably be after the road trip. They won't exactly be needing a DH in San Fran or Sad Diego. Unless one of our starters suffers an injury on the road... | |

| Chicago is playing like we did! They lose to the losers that they are supposed to beat (KC, Col, etc), but beat up on the ones they are supposed to lose to! They keep losing like they are...we can be back in 1st by the all star break! | |
