Michigan woes

This email was being passed around at my job (geez, I guess I'm lucky to HAVE one...) :silent:

While reading this, keep in mind our state (Michigan) is #1 in UNemployment in the country (7.6% compared to 4.7% nationally):


1. Governor Granholm is the 3rd highest paid Governor in the country at $177,000 in salary. This does not count her $60,000 expense account. Only the Governor of New York and California make more than her!

2. Governor Granholm's husband has 3 assistants paid by the state. The highest paid assistant makes $117,000 a year.

3. Our state Congressmen and Senators are the 2nd highest paid at $79,650 in salary. This does not count their $20,000 expense account. Only California legislatures make more.

4. Our teachers are the 3rd highest paid teachers in the country.

5. Our cigarette tax is the 4th highest in the country.

6. Our Corporate Income Tax rate is the 7th highest.

Funny how the state doesn't have enough money to pay their bills while our public servants are getting fat on our sweat and the only answer is for us to pay more in taxes!

personally, I would omit #4. Teachers work doggedly hard and have to be more social workers nowadays than teachers. They earn that $$.

That would actually make her the second highest then. Our governor here in CA doesn't actually make his salary - he donates it back to the state!

He's a lot more for the people. All she does is get pissed off at us.

Well our governor is pretty rich and famous already. He doesn't need the money. Our state is pretty screwed up though, too.

Tim Allen for governor would be cool if he has his alcohol abuse thing under control....he would be at nearly every Lions game, for sure!

Hadn't thought of using the other word. I guess the anatomical term sounded less angry. She is going to make it sooo difficult for the next woman candidate to be taken seriously. HC is on nothing but a power trip. She will say anything to get elected--I guess that's typical of all the candidates, but she seems especially prone to this.

I guess I like to sound angry! As a Californian I don't know too much about your governor so I can't really comment, but from what I understand she's not a very good one...

Again, a woman who does not listen to the average worker bees and prefers to keep use of a private mansion in da Upper Penninsula as opposed to keeping vital social programs.
