| That is bullshit
The NFL needs to change their playoff format
Teams that finish 11-5 should not miss the playoffs while another team goes 8-8 [in a weak division] and makes it

| There's plenty of shitty teams in there...
Arizona is 9-7 and Division champions. The Vikings are 10-6 but barely beat the Giants 2nd string.
If the 49ers wouldn't have screwed up in their Monday Night game against Arizona on 1st and goal with a couple seconds left they'd have won the division at 8-8. Hell, if the 49ers could have pulled that off but not a few other upsets and the Cardinals would have lost yesterday, Arizona could have won the division at 7-9.

Only a matter of time before a team with a losing record gets in the playoffs because they won a weak division I posted a similar thread on the Red Sox message board

| I hope that we see a 7-9 division champion or a 80-82 division champion (baseball) someday.
I like seeing the system get all fucked up. It's especially fun in college football where you have a 2 loss and 4 loss team in the Orange Bowl while an undefeated Boise St. was left to play in the toilet bowl (or whatever it was called). Both Boise and TCU were ranked higher than either team in the Orange Bowl and they played each other before Christmas.

| MLB 2006: St. Louis Cardinals win the WS with an 83-78 record. The Angels miss the playoffs with an 89-73 record. Go figure. | |

And six teams in the NL Central with only 4 in the AL West Funny how nobody ever makes an issue on that

Funny how nobody ever makes an issue on that It would sure make a lot more sense if they had 2 more teams in the AL. Even if you ignore the NL Central and AL West, it's still screwed - there's 2 less teams in the American League. Theoretically an American League team should win a pennant every 14 years while an NL team should win every 16 years.
