| Are there others here that love to read a good book? My absolute faves are: Dan Simmons - Hyperion saga (this is just unreal!!) Alastair Reynolds - Revelation space stuff Clive Barker - Can't decide which one is my favorite | |

| I love to curl up with a good book. Especially when it's raining haha I tend to read a lot of Stephen King. I have discovered audio books though and listen to them on my ipod now. I have gotten very lazy  | |

| The only Stephen King book i ever read was the one he wrote with Peter Straub "Talisman". I just loved that!
I read a lot thrillers and horror stuff. But now i switched to SciFi. Has more depth i think. I never tried audio books because i love to have a book in my hands, lay down on the sofa, have a beer and read a little bit!
Maybe i will try this audio book thing. I'm getting lazy too lately LOL

| I know how to read! Let's see, the last book I read was my senior year in high school. It was Fydor Dostoevsky's The Brother's Karamazov. I read the whole thing (all 963 pages)! I'll probably never read a fictional book again! | |

But the great thing about them is I can stick them on my ipod and do other things, like housework mostly. And they work wonders for helping me fall asleep, better than a sleeping pill! hahaha Nothing beats actually reading though. My latest is Mary Higgins Clark stuff. And Dean Koontz is one of my favorites too. And John Saul... yeah I like books

| I am thinking about going into forensic science so I have been reading mysterys. The one I am currently reading is called The Christopher Killer by Alane Ferguson, I am only a few chapters in but it is awesome. One of my favorite things to do is read. Give me a good book, a blanket, and some popcorn and I could finish the book in a couple hours! | |

| I've been reading a series by Janet Evanovich about a character named "Stephanie Plum". They seem to be pretty popular right now. They are considered "mysteries" but they are really mostly funny. Don't think the guys would like 'em, think they're considered "chick books" LOL. | |

| Personally, I adore the James Herriot All Creatures Great and Small series. Also can delve into Charlotte and Emily Bronte as the need arises, not to mention Thoreau, Oscar Wilde, and Walt Whitman. (I know, I need to come up a couple of centuries but just don't see any fiction that interests me.) | |

| I'm currently Reading the six wifes of Henry VIII. I'm trying to read as many books about the Tudor dynasty as possible. I read The Other Boleyn Girl and then so the movie, the movie upset me, nothing like the book. I'm also Listening to the 7th Son trilogy on my iPod. It's really good and it's free on podcasts. | |

| Reading is so much more mentally stimulating than... well pretty much everything. I'm never without a book to read.
Right now I'm reading Trainspotting. Talk about bizarre - it's written with a scottish dialect. If yae noo what ahm talkin aboot.
I'm a sucker for bizarre books - Chuck Pahlaniuk is one of my favorite authors (Fight Club is probably his most famous book). If you want a very strange but funny book to read check out his book Choke (they are making it into a movie). It's about a guy who is a sex addict that goes around to restraunts, purposely chokes on food to get someone to save him; who in return feels a close bond to our protagonist and sends him birthday cards/christmas cards with money. He uses this money to pay for his mothers nursing home...
Lastly, I must push one other author who is not extremely popular but a great read: F. Paul Wilson. If you like fiction/action/supernatural with some mystery worked in, you'll love this guy.

| I know what you mean, I got so mad at some points I could have burned the books. I just started breaking damn tonight so I should finish it before the end of the weekend. I can't wait for the movie to come out in November. My sister and I are going to go see it the day it comes out. In December Midnight Sun is coming out. It's the first book only written from Edwards point of view. I've already planned on pre ordering it. | |

| Do you all usually check books out of the library or buy them? I usually just get them from the library, but then I get all weird about germs and wipe them down with disinfectant wipes (yes I'm weird) Does anyone belong to any book clubs or anything where you get discounts? | |
