I'm not paying for that! It's free on the PS3. - cdurbfan22 wrote:

I was a little surprised!
There, are you happy? I want to play Wii! I'm saving up my points on swatcash to get one for free. The problem is I keep wasting the points on other stuff. I've earned well over the required 250 but keep spending them. I only have 2 right now. - NYyankees wrote:

NES rocks! I have all those systems. Not the new NES but I do know what you mean. Do you have Super Mario Bros? What about Contra? I want that but don't have it. - TG wrote:

Well, that was before we went to the mall today. Michael (my brother) decided that we needed to get Guitar Hero. So we bought it and came home and started playing. He had played it before so he is really good, but I have never played it, so i'm really really bad. He left and went to his girlfriend's house a little while ago so i was playing it and i got a little bit better, but i'm still bad.
but anyway, the wii is awesome and it's a lot of fun and although I hate to say it since I laughed when michael said we needed to get it, Guitar Hero is awesome too. I played Guitar Hero for the Wii once in someone's dorm. I did "Sunshine of Your Love" which is, sadly, one of just 2 good songs on the whole game. There's a way to download other songs on your PC and burn them to a DVD and play it on the PS2 - there's thousands of songs available and they're all free. It's really complicated though. I tried to learn for the heck of it once.

There is some good music on there, such as Miss Murder by AFI or When We Were Young by The Killers. That's just my music preferance though, because I listen to AFI and some The Killers.

I think that's only possible on the PS2 version. Technically it isn't supposed to be possible at all, but hackers are very smart and can hack the game code. The Wii, XBOX360, and PS3 all use special discs (Wii's are small, PS3 uses Blu Ray, XBOX360 uses ? [maybe DVD]) whereas PS2 uses DVD. If you have a DVD burner you can burn the game with new songs onto DVDs. That would probably work for PS3 as well if you have a Blu Ray burner. You can BUY more songs on the store, but who wants to do that? I like older rock and there's not much of it. They don't have the Doors, no Eric Clapton (although there is one Cream song), no Allman Brothers, etc.

| There is a way for Wii, because some of my friends have done it, i'm just not sure how. Well, you are right there is none of that. Michael is playing a Disturbed song and singing at the same time, because he knows all the words to it. I guess it just depends on what kind of music you like. | |

There probably is. These new systems are like computers. You probably have to write the data to a flash drive or something and plug it into a USB port on the Wii (I'm not 100% if it has USB ports but I'm sure it does).

I've never looked at a Wii closely. Are the disks it uses CD-sized or are they small like the Gamecube discs? I just checked. They use standard DVD-sized discs that aren't actually DVDs. Their Nintendo optical discs which are DVD-based. Based on that there must be a way to do it although it's probably somewhat complex - even more complex than it is to do for the PS2 version. Why can't game developers make hacking their software easier?

| I think they are averaged sized, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't make it easy to hack. Although you are right, that would be cool. I know most of this music, but it would be cool to be able to put some other stuff on here and not have to pay. | |

| I DID IT!
I just beat Mega Man with NO cheats!
According to IGN, the first Mega Man game is the second toughest (after Contra) game to beat in video game history. In an interesting side note, both those games came out in 1987 - the year of my birth.
Before I go pop open a bottle of Dom Perignon, I played the Mega Man Anniversary Collection version on the PS2 which is the exact same thing with one exception - you get continues. The NES version gives you ZERO and unlike other Mega Man games there is no password feature either.

Yeah, that's where they go. While you're Wii-ing it up (how's that for 3 i's in a row!) keep in mind the Wii plays GameCube games and it has the virtual console thing. For a few bucks ($5-10ish) a game you can download classic games. Quickly looking at the list on wikipedia, I'd recommend these if you get bored:
- Super Mario Bros. (NES) - $5
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - $5
- Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, or 3 (SNES) - $8 [1 and 2 are the best]
- Mario Kart 64 (N64) - $10 [way more fun with several people]
- Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, or 3 (Genesis) - $8 [2 is best followed by 1]
- Streets of Rage 1, 2, or 3 (Genesis) - $8 [2 is better than 1. I haven't played 3 because it's like $50 for the actual game on eBay]
There's plenty but those are probably the best of the best for the average gamer. They sell cards with 2,000 points for $20 at any store that sells video games. The games don't cost money but rather points. 100 points is EXACTLY $1.00. You'd pay tax for that card though whereas if you buy the game online there's no tax.

Yeah, $50-60 a game gets a little steep. I'm in college and jobless so I can't really buy too many. That's why I am such a big fan of classic games. Every now and then I think I really splurge because I spend $15-25 on a classic game that I want but that's still less than half of what new games cost. If you have the old systems you can get tons of games for under $10. I've purchased plenty of Atari games for around $1 each.

Me, Michael, and my dad all love it. My mom and sister don't though. I think it is a lot of fun and it's cool all the different stuff you can do with it. According to other people who have had a bunch of other gaming systems this one is really good, I don't have much to compare it to, but I know it's a lot of fun

He's not quite old enough to have grown up with some of the older systems (Nintendo, etc.) and is borderline old enough for the Super Nintendo. It's a shame people don't know more about these. They really ought to teach them that in school. I mean, what's more important - knowing what the Proclamation of 1763 is (can't settle west of the Appalachian Mountains) or knowing that "Atari" doesn't inherently refer to the Atari 2600 - they made quite a few systems? Who cares that we weren't allowed to settle that far west once? Why is it that I remember such worthless knowledge? The school systems are so flawed that I can tell you exactly what the Proclamation of 1763 is but I have no clue what the whole point of the War of 1812 was.

I never liked history though. If we would have had a history of video games class I would have got an A. Then again, it's not like I failed US history. Still, I would have got an A AND enjoyed the class. I can't say that about US history.
