Major League Baseball announced the players’ pool of postseason revenue and postseason shares for all eight playoff teams and four second-place clubs. While the World Series champion Cardinals and AL champion Rangers will receive $323,169.98 and $251,515.76, respectively, for each postseason share, the AL runner-up Tigers will also be bringing home some good extra money for the holidays — $126,901.50 per full postseason share, to be exact.
The Tigers awarded 44 full shares and partial shares equal to 10.12 shares, plus four cash awards. With $6,875,909.31 coming from the postseason pool, the split ends up at the figure listed above. The players’ pool comes from 60 percent of the gate receipts from the first three games of each Division Series and the first four games of both League Championship Series and the World Series.
Tigers players vote on how many receive full shares, how many receive partials, and how many non-players receive partial shares or cash awards.

Detroit Tigers earn hefty postseason bonus, award 44 full sharesPublished: Monday, November 28, 2011, 5:30 PM Updated: Monday, November 28, 2011, 5:35 PM By James Schmehl | MLive.com The AL runner-up Tigers are in line to receive quite a hefty holiday bonus following a postseason run that ended two wins shy of a World Series appearance. Detroit’s full postseason share was valued at $126,901.50, slightly up from the $123,141 the losing LCS teams were awarded in 2010, Major League Baseball announced Monday. The commissioner's office said the Tigers’ players’ pool totaled $6,875,909.31 and players voted 44 full shares, 10.12 partial shares and four cash awards in a late September meeting. Only players who were on the roster for the entire season were eligible to vote. Non-players were eligible to receive non-partial and cash awards. The entire players' pool was $57.3 million, an increase from last year’s $54.9 million. It includes 60 percent of the ticket money from the first three games of each division series, and the first four games of each league championship series and the World Series. The total pool was divided among 12 clubs, including the four regular season second-place clubs that failed to make the postseason. MLB said a full share on the World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals was worth $323,169.98, up from $317,631 for the San Francisco Giants in 2010.
