Leyland supports additional video reviews
By Rick Eymer / MLB.com | 04/14/11 10:12 PM ET

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Tigers manager Jim Leyland, part of the committee looking into the possibility of expanding replays, acknowledged Thursday there was talk about adding instant replay for fair-foul calls.

"I'm all for implementing that this year," Leyland said, addressing a published report from The Associated Press that said both the foul-fair call and outfielders trapping the ball will be added.

"It makes a lot of sense to me to get that [fair-foul] call right," Leyland said. "If you're talking about expanding replays, that's one that needs to be added."

Leyland serves on the committee along with St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa and Los Angeles Angels manager Mike Scioscia.
