I'll Be gone Monday through Wednesday

My school has this leadership retreat where we had to turn in an essay proving that we are worthy of going to this camp at a nearby college, and I was selected to go. It is from monday to wednesday and there are absolutely no electronics allowed. So starting Monday I wont be on till Wednesday.

You gonna have puter withdrawal! Have fun and learn lots at the Leadership Retreat. We look forward to hearing from you again Wed.

I hate this. 250 total problems in geometry due by next thursday. Probably an assload of work for History, bunches of French, and OMG! This is soooooooo gay.

Before cellphones, you could shop or eat in peace, without constant interruption! If you needed to call home, we used pay phones!

Texting, I don't even do that, Not worth the money or intrusion!

iPods, don't have one. We used walkman tape players and then CD players, before that, RADIO!

I could do without most of today's stuff. The computer is my most used Item.

We also were more into being active outside (baseball, dodgeball, among other physical activity)

I don't get texting. The buttons on a cell phone are so small, it would take me forever to type "how's it going?" And why be so secret about? What difference does it make if the person hears you or reads it? I think I've only texted twice. (Is "texted" the proper word there?).

Without the computer I couldn't do most of my work for school. Teachers can't read my hand writing so for the most part I have to type it all out

Before I had my cell phone my parents got mad at me all the time for not checking in.

Texting I would die without. ha. I hate talking on the phone.

And I have to use my iPod in order to do outdoor activities! Other than gym class, because I can talk to people during that.

Without my iPod I wouldn't be able to survive running or planks or anything else we have to do in rowing (other than the rowing part because we need to hear what the coxswain says).

I looove texting. I'm actually faster texting on a normal phone than I am on my new phone, which has a keyboard. And I like texting because you can be doing other stuff at the same time (CLASS, ha. But also homework or talking to someone else or whatever.) and also because you don't have to have everyone in the entire world hear your conversation...

One of the failings of our school system. If you can't write clearly, so that people can read your handwriting, you will have problems trying to get, or hold a job in the future.

Better try working on that!

I'll just become a doctor, they seem to hold jobs quite well.

I love texting and I dont even have a cell phone lol. Good thing my sister loves me!

Technology is cool and all but I'm beginning to worry that someday I'll think new technology is stupid. For example...

I was at the store for no real reason and happened to look at the HDTVs. While HDTV is clearly superior than regular TV, I was alarmed by one thing....
The TV I used in college is a few years old. It's 19 inches (non-HDTV) and not really a name brand. It was like $80 or so. At the Target I was at they no longer sell non-HDTVs and the cheapest HDTV is like $300 (for a 15 inch) which means there are no sub-$100 TVs. Also, size is deceiving on HDTVs - due to the fact they measure diagonally, a 19 inch HDTV actually has less area than even a 15 inch regular TV.

I probably won't ever buy a regular TV again as we have literally half a dozen spare ones from 13-30+ inches, but what if for some reason I wanted a cheap TV. You can no longer get one until HDTV prices come down.

That's why I love electronics. Pretty much everything there is (other than electronics) increases in price over time. Model T's were under a grand. No new car is even close to that. Bread used to be less than a dollar (gas, too). Now, not so much.

Electronics get cheaper by the day. My mom tells me her first VCR and first microwave both cost over $800. Today VCRs (if you can find one) are way under $50...heck so are DVD players. Microwaves can be had for around $50, too.

I was at Target and noticed generic Blu Ray players were $230. Those came out a year or so ago and the Sony models were $1,000. The Sony model at Target (which is probably better than the original) is $299. HDTVs used to be big and boxy and well over $1,000 for a decent one. Now they're flat and a good 42 inch or less TV will easily cost under $1,000.

If only other things could be like electronics - they would be paying us to buy gas by now...."10 gallons of gas? We owe you $10!"

i knw i have one now and it works finr its like a 27 inch but they work just the same and actually some of them have better pics.
