What, being sick or watching Gone with the Wind with my aunt? I like my aunt, she's fun and she was like the mother I never had. My real mom did a great job so I'm not saying she's garbage, but my aunt was like a mom, too.

Seriously though - you wouldn't like 90% of the movies I watch, but I'll bet you'd like Gone with the Wind. It's in color so you don't have to worry about B&W slowing you down and it's basically a love story with some stuff going on on the side. Sure, it has famous male actors like Leslie Howard and Clark Gable, but the women have the biggest role in the film. Technically there's a war going on during the movie but there's not a single battle scene so it's not at all a war movie.

Also, while Titanic has the highest box-office gross in movie history, Gone with the Wind has the highest gross to this day when adjusted for inflation. Even more impressive is when Gone with the Wind came out the US had about a third the population yet still sold more tickets than any movie in history.

I will watch it someday. And I agree, I don't like a lot of the movies you like

I wouldn't worry, up until March I thought B&W or old movies were about as exciting as watching paint dry. If you're like me you've got at least 5 more years before you'll even consider watching my movies.

I wouldn't worry, up until March I thought B&W or old movies were about as exciting as watching paint dry. If you're like me you've got at least 5 more years before you'll even consider watching my movies.

Okay. I should probably do it soon. Because as soon as I go back to school I have to start training.... then all of winter is conditioning, and spring is rowing... so I won't have much time to sit and watch movies

Well even if it's the best movie ever I wouldn't watch it at 2 AM. It's not the best movie ever (although people would argue that it is) but it's probably the most spectacular film ever made. The sets, costumes, etc. are just incredible.

Before I give the answer keep this in mind. It's in color and has sound. It takes place during the Civil War or thereabouts. Based on that, it doesn't really matter that it's old. Some people don't like old movies because they feel old. There's no computers, etc. This type of movie takes place in the past so even if it was made today it would be similar. With that said...

Before you freak out, the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (I'm going to guess you've seen that?) came out two years earlier.

Back to the spectacularness...
It cost almost $3.9 million to make. For comparisson, Rebecca which won best picture the following year, cost $1.3 million.

But my brother shot bambi... and it was gross because he made me hold the heart while he gutted it

The next weekend my brother wasn't there when my dad shot one so me and my dad had to handle the deer. I am allergic and then put in my contacts after helping carry it... it was NOT fun.
