I got Tigers tickets! To 10 games!

But cancelled the third game of the series due to cold weather

All I know is, I wouldn't very nice when the mayor threw out the first pitch!

He probably won't even throw the first pitch.

I wouldn't be going out in public at this juncture!

I am sure he will be at the game; Probably in a private suite but I doubt he will be on the field for the opening ceromomies;

I don't remember if opening day is on FSN or not, but they usually replay it later. Or you could record it and watch it later. I would put it on in my classroom and justify it by some lesson, LOL!!!!! As a teacher, I've found that if you make time for fun things or make a lesson out of fun things, you get the students to work a lot harder when it is serious learning time!!!!

lol. Well that works with our math teacher and sometimes our history/religion teacher. NEVER works for our Lit. or English teachers. I'll figure out a way....

You could always write a paragraph or two about what happened in the game, LOL

lol! I would have sooo much fun with that, but the people who hate baseball in that class would be like 'omg... make it stop...' lol. And I would start yelling at them that it was an important 'learning' experience

LOL, people that aren't interested could do something else. I would have them go to the library and work on other work or let them do something online. Teaching is all about having different things going on at once, the current buzz phrase is "Differentiated Instruction" LOL

We are coming back from easter vacation that day. lol. I'm pretty sure trying to get more school off would not work out too well.

Been there, done that, I had a little radio that you could hide and used a single earplug speaker. With long hair the teachers did not see the wire or earphone!

I don't have one of those! I could make sure I wear white uniform shirt that day, and put it in my pocket. My ear-phone cords are white. But I don't have any type of little radio. I have my ipod, but i can't listen to the radio on their.

Get a cheap little radio from the store.

And my parents are sooo mad. I was just like (talking to my mom) these people want me to get in trouble.... my brother yelled from upstairs "that means you can stay home with me!"

Why not just bring a radio to share with entire class? I am sure you can't be the only Tigers Fan?

There are three in my class. I'm serious. And one of them is going to opening day... so that leaves two of us. PLUS if it will be on tv we could watch it in pretty much any classroom, only problem is getting teacher to agree.

lol. I'll ask tomorrow and see what she says.. and if she says no i'll bug her on opening day cuase i'm sure she will have forgot by then!

Maybe you could barter? Offer to clean the black boards or pound erasers in exchange for bringing one to class for Opening Day.
