| Tigers sell contract of Wilk, outright Hoffman
By Paul Casella / MLB.com | 12/19/12 2:15 PM ET
The Tigers on Wednesday announced they have sold the contract of left-hander Adam Wilk to a team in the Korean Baseball League, and the club has also outrighted fellow southpaw Matt Hoffman to Triple-A Toledo.
Wilk, an 11th-round pick in the 2009 Draft, struggled in his three Major League starts last season, taking the loss in all three outings while posting an 8.18 ERA. In eight overall appearances with the Tigers from 2011-12, the 25-year-old Wilk went 0-3 with a 6.66 ERA.
Though his Major League success was limited, Wilk is 30-23 with a 2.66 ERA in 83 career Minor League starts. This past season, he went 7-11 with a respectable 2.77 ERA in 24 starts with Toledo.
As for Hoffman, the 24-year-old lefty spent the entire 2012 season with Toledo, where he went 1-2 with a 3.69 ERA over 46 1/3 innings in 43 appearances.
