Dodgers to play at the Coliseum

Not Tigers related, but this is so cool that I thought I'd post it here.

I won't bore you with the article (go to dodgers.com to read it if you care) but here's what you need to know.

The Dodgers are celebrating their 50th anniversary in LA. When they moved here they played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a few years waiting for Dodger Stadium. In honor of their 50th anniversary they'll play a single spring training game (Sat. March 29, 2008) at the Coliseum.

The Coliseum will hold around 90,000+ (and has for Dodger baseball). Even more exciting, since it was never designed for baseball and is just a bowl worth of seating the dimensions are awful. LF is around 250 feet.

It'll be even shorter due to renovations.

I plan on going and can't wait. Could a SS hit the LF wall on a pop fly? Possibly! It'll be tough to make LF even 200 feet away!

Oh yeah, they're playing the Red Sox. I'll try and post pictures when the time comes.

That's what I'm worried about. I absolutely have to go to this so cost won't matter but I'd rather not spend a fortune. Dodgers Spring Training games at Dodger Stadium (they play a couple ST games there against ANA every year) are the same price as regular season games. I need a good infield seat - no way in hell I'm sitting in the OF at the Coliseum, it's like 10 miles away!

LOL! That's why I have to sit in the infield. This is a once in a lifetime type of thing so I'll pay $50 (or God forbid more) if I have to! I am hoping to spend $25ish to be 50 rows back or something near home plate but we'll see.

Regardless of where you sit, it should be unforgettable!!

What I wouldn't give to see the TIGERS play one more game at Michigan and Trumbull!! Yay2

Yeah it will! That's why I'll go almost no matter what. As I work on my ballpark tour I make a point to visit every site in that city the team played even if nothing is there. I want to see Seals Stadium in San Francisco...it's now a Safeway. I go to SF enough that it isn't that big a deal I haven't seen that.

I was thinking about seeing a USC football game puke

to see a game at the Coliseum. This will be so much better.

Oh, if the Tigers play another game in Tiger Stadium I'll be there. Hell, if they announced right now that they were playing one game tomorrow I'd find a way to get there.

Little League? I'm there! That's better than I'd hope for! I'd be thrilled to see girl's little league softball...or convict baseball...or granny softball...hell, cricket would work! Just give me some sort of game to see!

I would've paid $20 when I was there in August in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd have paid $100! I might have stolen a blade of grass or some dirt but nothing of any value. If I saw peeling paint I might have tried to steal a piece, but again, that's of no value either.

Not all the seats are gone, only certain sections were used for the auction and the best part is.... they did not raise enough money in the auction to pay for demo! The grand lady is still holding in! Metal

Refurbish Tiger Stadium! Put in new seats and then get rid of them every few seasons...I'd buy them!

Yeah! I'd watch. I wonder how many overs they'd play and what not.
