Tigers: RHP Justin Verlander (2-0, 0.56 ERA)

Between fall showers and Yankee hitters, Verlander had a crazy Division Series against New York last season, his Game 1 start cut short by rain before racking up 11 strikeouts over eight innings in Game 3. He fanned 14 Yanks over eight innings in Aug.




Yankees: RHP Phil Hughes (0-0, 1.35 ERA)

Hughes gets the start on regular rest, five days after he delivered a strong ALDS outing against Baltimore. Hughes allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings in a no decision. He pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief vs. Detroit in last year's ALDS.
