Tigers: RHP Max Scherzer (6-5, 5.12 ERA)

Two days after his brother's death, Scherzer rejoined the team and pitched six quality innings last Saturday at Pittsburgh, his damage coming on Andrew McCutchen's three-run homer. He's winless in three starts against Tampa Bay despite a 3.06 ERA.



Rays: RHP James Shields (7-4, 3.99 ERA)

Shields earned a no-decision on Saturday against the Phillies when a two-run homer and a three-run homer accounted for all of the Phillies' runs during Shields' five-inning stint. Shields is 2-2 at Tropicana Field this season.
