After six starts of stingy pitching, Smyly has given up a pair of two-run home runs in each of his past two starts. However, they've comprised all of his runs, including two homers to fastball-killer Andrew McCutchen in his last performance.



Twins: RHP Anthony Swarzak (0-3, 4.73 ERA)

Swarzak will start in place of Nick Blackburn, who's on the DL with a left quad strain. Swarzak has posted three scoreless outings in his past four, but he's 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in three starts this season. He has a 7.62 career ERA against Detroit.
