New Free Press book: A tribute to Sparky Anderson

Sparky Anderson was much more than the all-time leader among Tigers managers in victories, visibility and inimitable quotations. He was a legendary figure in his sport, beloved by fans, players and peers.

As a tribute, the Free Press has written a new book: "Sparky Anderson: The Life of a Baseball Legend."
We reflect on his long career in 128 pages of historic photos and defining moments by and about a good-field, no-hit middle infielder from South Dakota who was once a nobody known as George Lee Anderson.
