| Bishop Named EL Player of the Week08/17/2010 3:08 PM ET Erie SeaWolves first baseman Rawley Bishop has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the week ending August 15th. The 24-year old batted .565 (13-for-23) with three doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI, 10 runs scored, one stolen base, four walks and a 1.087 slugging percentage over six games while leading the SeaWolves to a record of 5-1. Bishop, who is a native of Spring Hill, Tennessee, had multiple hits five of the six games he played in last week, including going 4-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in a 10-9 victory over Bowie on Friday night at Jerry Uht Park. Rawley finished the week by driving in three runs in four straight games and scored at least one run in all six games he played in during the week. The 6'3", 205 lb. slugger ranked first among all Eastern League players in batting average (.565), hits (13), RBI (13), runs scored (10) and total bases (25) last week. He also tied for first in homers (3) and extra-base hits (6). Rawley, who was promoted to Erie on June 23rd after batting .301 with 42 RBI in 66 games at Class-A Lakeland, was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 19th round of the 2009 draft after establishing career records at Middle Tennessee State University in homers, RBI, runs scored, total bases, walks, hit by pitches and putouts.
