Since more members here speak American English than British English, I changed the spelling of pyjamas to the more conventional American spelling, pajamas.
As for the language thing, that seems to be typical of war movies.
All Quiet on the Western Front is about a bunch of Germans during World War 1 but they all speak English. In
Paths of Glory all of the people in the movie (French, WW1) speak English.
American films are very afraid of subtitles. I'm surprised
The Godfather has so much dialogue in subtitles. People love that movie and there are hours worth of subtitles. People need to not be afraid of subtitles
