Wedding Plans

My wedding is fast approaching for the summer and I would like to have a Tigers theme.

Any thoughts, ideas?

White orange and blue colors, of course!

Put a player's name on the back of the dress? On second thought, maybe not.

Do wedding dresses have to be white? Do tuxedos have to be black?

It's my second wedding so I can play around with the "rules" a little bit more.

I was thinking of jersey's since it will be a casual/outdoor thing

You could rent a suite at Comerica or the Pepsi porch for your reception

Yeah, who needs rules anyways. Tradition makes things boring. I think if I get married I'll wear a tuxedo shirt with shorts and sandals.

The pictures I've seen of weddings at Comerica involved the bride wearing a veil and a Tigers jersey....

I still like my idea of having the reception at Comerica Park

I have seen people rent suites or the Picnic Porch for wedding parties and receptions

Some father of the bride was ranting on the Tigers.com board that he was trying to get his little girl married there...had been a season tix holder for many years, but the wedding and reception were gonna cost $20K no matter what, and he was pissed...

especially when you think of the CoPa's liability and insurance costs! I actually thought it sounded reasonable, but even season tix holders have to pay!

How about using the Mudhens field for the wedding and reception. Any thing there that would work???

Yes actually I could. I will have to look into that. I am planning on coordinating my High School Reunion for that location.

Wedding dress is more than $100. Now adays girls spend $100+ on prom dresses...

Then you can't forget a photographer, a stylist for the hair and nails, a DJ for the reception, booze... very expensive,

Why? You can get a dress for way less than that...you don't even have to go to Goodwill to do it. Or rent one.

1. Have friends take pictures. Take your own pictures, etc. Besides, who'll ever want to see those pictures?

2. DJs are overrated - they just play music. Make up some mix CDs and get a CD changer. Cost = free.

3. BYOB. Otherwise booze is included in the $500 meal budget.

If guys were in charge no wedding would cost more than $500....unless they thought they were rich in which case it would be under $1000.

Who are you kidding... the parents of the bride normally pay for the daughters 1st wedding, and most dads end up wanting the best for their daughter..... and want to impress the guests! So they spend at minimum $5000 and up!

My mom got so upset at how her parents kept getting a bigger and bigger wedding, so she and my dad drove to Maryland and had a judge do their wedding! No fancy dress or other costs!

I never understood fascination with fancy dresses. Has she worn it since?
