Michel Hernandez re-signed to a minor-league deal

Catcher Michel Hernandez, who played in five September games and was the backup during the postseason, was re-signed to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to major-league spring training.

Shawn Riggans is expected to return as the primary backup to All-Star Dioner Navarro, but Hernandez, 30, will provide depth and insurance while expected to split time at Triple-A Durham with John Jaso.
