Still confused? Let's go back to 1983.

The Tigers were playing the White Sox. It was the 9th inning and the Tigers lead by a score that I don't remember. There were 2 outs and the bases were empty. Milt Wilcox, the starting pitcher for the Tigers that day, was still pitching. Some guy was supposed to bat but Jerry Hairston, Sr. pinch hit. Hairston got a single on the very first pitch he saw. Wilcox retired the next batter and the Tigers won.

So what you ask? Well, I forgot one key detail. Milt Wilcox retired the side in order in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings. He retired the first two in the 9th. In other words he retired the first 26 batters he faced. In other words, he was one out away from not a no-hitter, but a perfect game. Jerry Hairston, Sr. ruined it and he, and his family, can all rot in hell for it.

Actually, here it is.

So basically they hate him because his father ruined Wilcox's perfect game
