Don LaFontaine, voice of movie trailers, dies
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Don LaFontaine, the voice behind thousands of Hollywood movie trailers, has died. He was 68.
LaFontaine's agent Vanessa Gilbert says the voiceover artist died Monday as a result of complications from the treatment of an ongoing illness at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
LaFontaine has been a fixture in Hollywood for decades, working on about 5,000 movie trailers. Much of his fame stems from his trademark movie-trailer catch phrase, "In a world where..."

He was young but according to the way he looked in that Geico commercial, he looked about 10 years older.

Who is gonna do movie trailers now?
Who did them before him? I doubt he did the trailer for Casablanca for instance.

I haven't found the answer yet, but here's an interesting tidbit...
In the trailer I posted Humphrey Bogart (Rick Blaine) says to a guy "Okay, you asked for it" and then shoots him. This did not happen in the movie.

That sounds cool
Why did they edit it?

Beats me! I've only seen that movie once and I was very sick. I need to watch it again because I think the score I gave it was way too low.

You haven't seen Casablanca
I blame the American education system for that. They teach kids all this crap they don't need but they graduate high school not having seen movies like Casablanca and not knowing the difference between Picasso and Van Gogh. I mean sure, math and science and all that is important, but kids should learn about artistic stuff, too. Music, art, film, etc. is important and in the 13 years people are in school there's time for an intro to film, art, and music class. I mean do we really need to take American history every year? It doesn't change much.
Of course it would help if they taught things right the first time. I must have taken American history at least 5 times (including AP US History) and I still don't know something basic like what the War of 1812 was. I do know what the Proclamation of 1763 is despite the fact that's far more obscure.
Night!

That was a trailer for Casablanca? My bad
I had trouble playing it on my computer; Plus I was like half asleep last night; Then went to bed and woke up
I have seen it; They don't make like that anymore I agree with your views on education system
