Top Tiger prospect breaks bone; Fernando Rodney on the trading block

Second baseman Scott Sizemore, one of the Tigers' top prospects, likely will be out until sometime in August after undergoing surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in his left wrist.
"It feels better every day," Sizemore said in a telephone interview. "It's a little less sore. I'm getting more flexibility back. I don't want to rush back and reinjure it. I want to be smart about it. ... I'm expecting to come back 100%."
Sizemore, who participated in the Tigers' big-league spring training this year, has not played since June 2. He was batting .286 with four home runs and 20 RBIs in 53 games at Class A Lakeland.
