Wearing the Black Shirts the umpires wear [like they do for almost every game at Comerica]. Only three times have they worn the light blue shirts

Funny he and the rest of his umpire crew could wear the light blue shirts in Tampa Bay last Friday

And the Indians wore their dark blue softball uniforms

Ok he blew the save yesterday; but it was a team effort!


We had the bases loaded in the ninth and couldn't hit a fly ball to center to tag the run home!

Alright, I'll be the first to admit it: It's easy to give Jones shit because he's the guy that close games fall on and no one ever thinks about the games he wins us, we just focus on the ones who loses for us.

HOWEVER:

He put the first two men on before Joyce's error, didn't he? The E would've been inconsequential if Jones had gotten, oh, I don't know, AN OUT?

As for the Tigs loading the bases and then losing it at the bottom of the ninth, you're right, that was pathetic, but again, we wouldn't have even been playing the bottom of the 9th if it hadn't been for the blown save.

Don't get the wrong idea about the dislike I have for Jones, it originates for him as a player, not a human being. He's a wonderful guy. I think it's awesome that he's a family man and a Christian (Kudos for any Christians in the spotlight-- it probably ain't easy). He just gives me indigestion as a player.
