Yeah it is. Just hurry up and get this damn thing over with. I'm tired of hearing about it. I already voted so I really don't want to hear about it now.
And I'm REALLY getting tired of the California Republican Party calling our house and leaving 3-4 messages...EVERY DAY. How did they get our phone number? I'm a registered Democrat as is my mom and my sister's boyfriend. My sister didn't register to vote. The California Democratic Party hasn't called us once. Did the parties screw up and switch phone records or something?

Same here, I already voted absentee ballot.
And I am also sick of getting both Dem and Rep phone calls everyday. I think both parties have gotten the registered voter records and call those on the opposite party to try to convince them to cross over. I just tell them I already voted and no, I won't give them money!

Wait, real people call you? We just get recorded messages. They don't ask for money, they just want us to go the CAGOP.com (or something). What's funny is whoever read the message really can't say the web address properly. I swear they're saying something like CACDV.com.

Yep, real people about 50% of the time. What pisses me off is when both parties (as well as many charities) ask for money and I tell them I have nothing I can give... then they go into that canned junk of, "oh, ok, then how about $100" - NO, then how about... I finally either tell them "what part of the word NO don't they understand" or I just hang up on them!

I love phone salespeople. I used to order silver and stuff from magazine ads for cheap. It'd be like $5.00/ounce for some intro offer and then before I could buy it they guy would ask if I'd like to try some gold coin set for only $12,500. Umm....who spends $12,500 on a whim?

I get real people calling me all the time. They never call for anyone else in the house though. When Hilary was running for a spot I actually got a call on my caller ID from Clinton, Hillary.
My Grandma loves it when charity or telemarketers call her. I have sat there and listened to her argue with one for 20 minutes until they actually hung up on her. They were collecting money for something and my grandma tried to get them to send her some of the money since she was in need of another box of wine.

NRA Magazine (not that I'd ever read that), Reader's Digest, etc. used to have ads for silver. It was free plus shipping (came to like $5 an ounce back when silver was like $10/oz.). They'd sit and try and sell you a bunch of stuff, but it was still a good deal.

I don't read any of those magazines. There are message boards out there for people that collect precious metals and they post copies of the ads. Search for goldismoney or something like that and you'll find the message boards. Those people are crazy though - they think that any day now the world is going to fall apart, money will cease to exist, and everyone will be bartering with gold and silver. They were thinking that years ago, even before the economy started falling apart. Some of them sound like they want the world to fall apart because they have so much silver/gold stashed away. I was never that into it.

Gold selling is getting more prevalent here, touted as a way to "clean your jewelry box." Not too much fear factor in it, but I can sense it, gauging from the TV ads. They are scaring you into parting with it.

And boy do they rip you off. I have a 18k tri gold necklace from Key West, that is hand made. original cost 30 years ago was $250, Jewelers here say it is worth $400 (at least 200 for the gold value alone) and those "buy your gold and silver" folks offered me $5.00! You know where I told them to go. Same with silver. They give you a fraction of the value of silver, let alone what the necklaces are worth as jewelry!
