| Three friends were stranded on a desert island. After several days with no food and no drinking water, they were beginning to lose heart. Suddenly, a bottle floated into the shore and a beautiful genie popped out. She said, "I have three wishes to grant. Each of you gentleman can make one wish come true." Friend number one got excited. He said, "I wish I was in Las Vegas with dice in one hand and a drink in the other, surrounded by music, food, and beautiful women." Instantly he was gone, his wish granted. Friend number two smiled and said, "I wish I was back home right now with my wonderful wife and our two small children, at our log cabin in the woods sitting in front of the fire and singing Christmas carols together." Just like that, he disappeared. The genie asked the remaining man, "And what do you wish for?" He answered, "Gee, I wish I had my buddies back to help me decide..." | |

No, because if that were the case he wouldn't have even understood what you each get a wish means without further explanation. He must've gone to Ohio U. or something.

Then you're smarter than Catbox or Bobrob will EVER give you credit for! I just dunno why...but they seem to think that anyone that goes to OSU is stupid or something. I think its a jealousy issue when we beat U of M every year....but I'm just guessing....lol

| All rivalries aside let me ask a serious OSU question for a moment.
Say I wasn't an athlete or anything. Which is the more prestigious school: Ohio U. or Ohio State University?
I hear very little about Ohio U but in CA a school like Cal-Berkely, UCLA, UCxx (there's like 12 more) is much more prestigious than say Cal-State Fullertson, Cal-State Long Beach, etc. (there's like 20 more).

Same goes for Michigan. No matter how you slice it, it's more prestigious to go to UofM than State.

It really depends on your course of study. For example...OSU has one of the nation's top Veterinary programs, but Ohio U has a better Education program. Then again, Ohio Northern University (which, by the way, is nowhere NEAR northern Ohio...it's closer to Cincy lol) has one of the country's best Pharmacutical programs. All in all though, Ohio State is the school to attend. A degree from OSU will get someone hired (generally) faster than one from OU.

That's what I thought. I wonder why Ohio did it that way. I guess it truly is backwards in that state I mean everyone knows Penn is better than Penn State, Cal is better than San Jose State, etc.

| Well....I'm not sure about the rest of the country...but I know that generally speaking, it takes LESS of a degree and training to teach at a private school (like Ohio University) than it does to teach at a public school, such as Ohio State...AND the teachers get paid MUCH less at private schools than public schools. | |

| OH! I had no idea that Ohio U was a private school. That's why it's less prestigious.
Yeah, private schools, for the most part, are lesser schools. Obviously there are some major exceptions (Stanford, Harvard, etc.) but that's generally the case. UCLA, Berkeley, etc. are public as are Fresno State, San Jose State, etc.

| Im thinking about attending Akron U, mainly because I have 85% off tuition already. But I would like to attend a college with a nice baseball program. I was thinking Clemson, they went to Omaha a couple years ago, but Im not sure what other school I could go for.
Suggestions? | |

| The best baseball programs are all west of the Mississippi river. I think 8 straight national champions are from out west. Historically, your best teams are USC, Texas, Arizona State, Cal-State Fullerton, etc. USC and UT are both very prestigious schools so you'd get a good education there. ASU and CSF have much lower academic standards. | |

| Well, I know I need to aim high, but I also doubt that I would get a full ride into Texas or USC. So I think I might settle for Clemson or AZ State. | |
