| Hey I have a question. The Chicago White Sox have played 25 games, while we, and a few other teams, have played 27. But yet Chicago is still in first place. How does that work? They have had less chances to lose, because they have played less games. So why should they be able to be holding the first place spot when other teams have lost more, and played more? | |

| They go by winning percentage. Basically take the number of wins and divide by total games played. As of right now the standings are...
1. White Sox 14-11 (.560) 2. Royals 12-14 (.462) 2. Twins 12-14 (.462) 4. Tigers 12-15 (.444) 4. Indians 12-15 (.444)
Technically, the Tigers are now in 4th place. It doesn't really matter how many games are played to determine that day's standings (it'll all even out at the end of the season anyway). So technically if someone was 1-0 (1.000) they'd be in 1st place right now. | |
