2006 Draft Review

Way back in 2006 was the 2006 amateur draft.

Let's take a look at how the top pitchers are doing so far in 2008:

1. Luke Hochevar, RHP - Kansas City. First pick.
He's made 1 start and gave up 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings for a 11.57 ERA.

2. Greg Reynolds, RHP - Colorado Rockies. Second pick.
Yet to make the majors. 6.33 ERA in AAA this season. ERA less than 2 in AA last year but just 50 IP. He must have been hurt or something.

3. Brad Lincoln, RHP - Pittsburgh Pirates. Fourth pick.
Hasn't made the majors. He seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth as he hasn't pitched at any level in 2008 - or 2007 for that matter. He was decent in 2006 (4.50 ERA) but something must have happened.

4. Brandon Morrow, RHP - Seattle Mariners. Fifth pick.
He's a relief pitcher for the Mariners. Hasn't allowed a run in 1 2/3 innings this season.

5. Andrew Miller, LHP - Detroit Tigers. Sixth pick.
Currently 1-2 through 5 starts with an ERA of 7.94.

6. Clayton Kershaw, LHP - Los Angeles Dodgers. Seventh pick.
Yet to make the majors. He's 0-3 with a 1.83 ERA in AA this season.

7. Tim Lincecum, RHP - San Francisco Giants. Tenth pick.
Currently 4-0 through 5 games with a 1.23 ERA. Has 36 strikeouts in 29 1/3 innings pitched.

Early returns look pretty good for Lincecum.

Wow, the Kershaw guys is doing good with a 1.83 ERA, must not be getting any run support.

Lincecum's ERA is even better...in MLB instead of AA. The main reason I posted this was to compare Miller to Lincecum because that pisses SoulRat off.

Lol, well I bet it does, but seriously, I dont know how you go 0-2, and get a 1.83 ERA, that shows something about offense, or errors.

LOL no it doesn't. What pisses me off is Miller has turned into a total headcase. Thank you Tigers for rushing him long before he was ready

If it makes you feel better Lincecum has fallen apart. He was 4-0 with a 1.23 ERA when I started this but now he's 4-1 with a 1.73 ERA.

Oh yeah, he's a MESS. Send his butt down to AA stat!!

He pitches today, too (against Hamels). Everybody pitches today!
