RECENT RESULTS: The Tigers were shut out for the ninth time this season, falling 5-0 to the Mariners yesterday afternoon. Justin Verlander (2-8) suffered the loss for Detroit after allowing four runs in seven innings of work. Carlos Guillen and Magglio Ordonez each finished with a hit in the loss. The Tigers continue a nine-game road trip to the West Coast this afternoon with the final game of a three-game set against the Mariners. Detroit concludes the trip with a three-game series beginning tomorrow night in Oakland.
