Chad Durbin Pitching against AJ Burnett.

The Tigers rocked AJ pretty good his last outing. Hopefully he's not at his A game. And soon to be former NO. 5 Starter Chad Durbin will pitch today. I hope god have mercy on Durbin. Cause the Blue Jays are gonna Rock him today This may be a high scoring game, or it could be a very painful game to watch if AJ is throwing good today.

I'm expecting a high scoring affair from both teams. When Durbin does depart from the game, Grilli may be his replacement.

I hope Omar finally gets a start today. Perhaps either give Casey a day off & use Guillen at 1B - or give Grandy a day off & use Omar in CF..

I know! I've been waiting and waiting to see Omar this year. I wanted him to spell Inge at third during his slump and Leyland put Neifi in instead. Frustration... Infante has too much potential to never see playing time.

Durbin Gives a a 3 Run HR to Vernon Wells. Why is he in the rotation when we got Miner, and Ledesma.

My goodness.....Nothing like hanging a curve right over the heart over the plate on Vernon Wells. And his fastball is certainly nothing special--about 87 mph and he doesn't even locate it very well. They mention that against Baltimore he resorted to his fastball as the game went. Why on earth would he have done that? At best, his fastball is something he might want to show now and then, and only to nibble the corners. It's certainly not an out pitch.

Once again our hitter are scuffling. I hear all this talk about what a great hitting team we have. But I don't see it. I think our hitters are really overrated--and I mean really, really overrated. There's no doubt about it that the strength of this team is in its pitching staff--and the weakness is in its hitting.

Well, first batter for the Jays gets on base with a double. I really do not think Chad Durbin has the kind of stuff to stay in the majors, let alone starting.

The Tigers look horrible kind of like they looked at the end of the season last year. Against a pitcher like Burnett they can forget about it! They are so out of snyc the only way they can win is if Bonderman or Verlander were to pitch their 'A' game every night and even then they might lose in extra innings like last night. These hitters better start earning their pay. I like to see Omar Infante playing today and I think Leland should use him a little more. Durbin should be pulled now and relegated to the bullpen. Give him no more starts. 4-0 now, how far does Leyland want to go with this clown???

What gets me about a guy like Durbin is that he'll probably bad-moouth the organization for yanking him out of the rotation because you know it's going to happen soon. This guy should be pitching for the Midland Loons!

Durbin seems to have straightened himself out. 4-0 is not insurmountable lead. You still have a chance to come back at this early stage.

well were you saying that last year when the Tigers looked the same to me as they do now? Grandersom, Monroe and Inge are rally killers but this shouldnt be a surprise to you is it? Sure they can turn it on sometimes but it just seems that one or the other more times than not will strike out and kill whatever they have going. Pitching is the only thing that keeps them in the game.

I was watching and I saw Granderson swing at a pitch just off his shoe laces for the second out. I dont like seeing a hitter go after the same pitches bat after bat. Thta to me is a rally killer. With no outs the odds of scoring with a runner on first are very high and they are very good still with even one out but with 2 outs they arent good at all. Look at Monroe up there now with 1 out. What will he do? Kill the rally?

Actually, retiring anyone's number is silly, when you think about it. Put up a statue, or put their name and number in the outfield, but to me, there are other ways to honor players than deleting their number from the system forever.

Even though it is politically incorrect, I totally agree about Robinson. What's the big deal? Make a big deal out of the Babe, or Ty or Lou Gherig. He is far from the greatest player ever. If it's because of race, than have a day for Clemente too.

I also do not think it was out of the goodness of their hearts that the game was integrated. It was greed; that Dodger GM (whose name escapes me) realized the untapped potential of a large group of people. The bottom line of profit once again.
